I already knew I couldn't turn my back...yet I did anyway. This is what can happen in two seconds. Notice the silverware rack is not in there. I was at least smart enough to pull it out. I think I walked into the living room (which is attached to the kitchen and completely open) to get a bottle that needed to go in the dishwasher...10 seconds max. My child. (Please ignore the nastiness on the dishwasher in this pic. The dishes are dirty, therefore there is goop on the door. I almost didn't post the pic for that reason, but I'm learning to just not care what "you" think.) :)
Of course, when he was "found out" this is the look I got:
The new car seats came in a week or two ago, but we haven't had time to get them installed yet and there's no rush because Walker still fits in his infant seat. Here is Walker showing off the one that will go in Daddy's truck eventually.
And then he decided Daddy needed a helping hand!
He was extremely eager to get in his seat and wouldn't let Daddy work, so we did this instead:
Walker got to play with his cousin Jake at a family shower this weekend! Daddy and Jake's Daddy played together when they were this age...and the rest of their lives too. People kept saying it was "Cliff and Jacob" all over again. Evidently they both look just like their Daddy at that age.
The yelling continues but I think it's a good thing because we really think he's experimenting with talking and maybe he will decide to delight us with a word or two very soon. He is making more and more sounds and his latest is "oooooooo" which he said alot when he was very young but has recently picked up again. He repeated the word "get" today in front of about 5 people and it was so random because I said "Walker, get it." and he said "get" and just kept going about his business. Of course we haven't heard it again...or anything else for that matter besides just yelling.
I made the comment to a friend the other day that I'd be the mommy in the grocery store who's kid you could hear on the milk aisle when the mommy is in the produce section because Walker is just so loud. He's not upset...just loud. Well, our little family ventured out to the grocery store yesterday. Daddy had the buggy and I pushed Walker's stroller. We were a few aisles away from Daddy at one point and I guess Walker decided he wanted Daddy to know where we were because he just started calling out. It was the only peep he made in the store because he's just mesmerized by all there is to look at, but he sure wanted Daddy to come find us...and of course, like a good Daddy, he did just that. :)

Those pictures are great! He is so cute! Man, in the "found out" picture I can see both of you so well! Love him in the car seat. Jamie doesn't care too much for hers. She misses her infant car seat but girlfriend just got too big too fast.
I can assure you that your son is not the loudest in the grocery store, mine is. We went to the grocery store on Saturday morning and - wait before I tell that story let me first tell you that Nolan is infatuated with balls - all and any kind, sports balls that is. we went to the grocery store on saturday and he starts pointing at the watermelons and screaming at the top of his lungs "BALL BALL BALL BALL BALL!!!!" i got out of the produce section as fast as i could. he also has to wave at every single person that goes by - what a social butterfly he already is. I tried to tell him that it was not a ball but it was a watermelon. "No, Nolan that is not a ball. It's a watermelon. Can you say wa-te-r-me-lon?" Yeah right. You can imagine his response. "BALL BALL BALL BALL." We have to go around the toy section in WM so that we don't pass the big cage with all of the balls. I think it's a boy thing.
Anyways, he's adorable and I am really happy for you all. Congrats on the Britax car seat deal. We just couldn't afford those and we didn't have the internet when it was time for Nolan to transition so that i could look for good deals.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. You're right. We probably wouldn't have had these conversations in high school or college for that matter. I love how God works. We have to get together soon, K?!!
