I don't see how this picture could possibly need a caption...his expression says it all. "NO THANK YOU!" This was what we got when we fed him his first bite of stage 3 foods...he'd had a few bites already of stage 2 yummies and Daddy snuck this bite of chicken noddle something or other in on him. He was not happy. We think it was the noodle or maybe the texture he didn't like because he's done great with other stage 3 foods we've tried since then. Also, apparently (for now) he's a vegetarian because he just doesn't like the little mixtures with meat in them...

Walker got his first baby pool on Monday. He's such a little bath shark we just knew he'd have a fit over it. We even went as far as to fill a cooler up with warm water and fill up his pool. He enjoyed splashing, crawling and doing all the things he does in the bathtub like sampling the water for example...but he mostly just cared about crawling out of the pool and into the wide world of outside that awaited him. I am dreading the day he brings me frogs and grasshoppers because I know it's coming. He just loves the outdoors. He will actually cry to go outside.

For some reason the past few days he has started putting his hand up after his mouth after some bites. This is what he does and if he does it, he does it the whole meal...but some meal's he does not. We can't figure it out. He leaves it there as he "chews."

Just a cute little grin. I love these pictures where his eyes look goofy. So cute! You can't see it here but his top teeth have FINALLY cut through. They are still mostly "underground" but we can feel them now. Man, that took forever!

This has been Walker's first week of Vacation Bible School. Our theme is Outrigger Island and here he is with his best friend, Brinley. He's having the best time this week and really enjoying playing with the other babies, Carlie and Katie in the nursery while their mommies work.

He has been mumbling dadadadadadada all evening. Unfortunately, Cliff hasn't been home to hear it tonight. He's at the Braves game with some friends from church but we hope they are having a good time!
Our diet is going well. We are both dropping weight and can see and feel the results. We are doing Weight Watchers, which for us is moreso a lifestyle change than a diet. Cliff's lost over 25 lbs and I've lost about 6-7 give or take. We are really encouraged and motivated at this point and hope it continues!
We're both working VBS all week. Cliff's helping with recreation and I'm helping lead worship. I get to sing and dance for little kids all week long as they learn about God's love through music. How awesome!! (No one told me I'd have a mike attached...oh well, they ARE little kids.) :)
On that note, God is at work in our lives in a very neat way right now and we know we are in for quite a ride. We're anxious and excited to see what the future holds for us in our areas of ministry and would like to ask you to be praying for us as we venture into a new "place..." so to speak. Goodnight!

too cute!! nolan never did like the 3rd stages. he only liked the fruit cobblers - or whatever in the stage 3. even though he only has 2 teeth on bottom - he can gum real food now if you mash it up and make sure you can mush it with your tongue. i know it sounds crazy, but nolan was eating cheerios at 5 mos and went straight to solids after about another month or so. it's weird, but they can gum food that you wouldn't think he could. i have some good recommendations for that kind of stuff if you want to know. sorry i go on forever on these things - but i get carried away talkin bout babies!!
i have vbc next week too!! i'm teaching 5 year olds!!
Congratulations on your weight loss! That is great! Scott and I are eating healthy and working out at the gym near our home 3/4 times a week. It's funny because Scott has lost 20 lbs. and I have lost 6/7, just like you and cliff. I think men just lose weight easier than us for some reason. Anyway, don't worry about Walker not eating the stage 3 foods. Logan wouldn't eat that meat for anything in the world. We just went straight on to table food.
And the noodle stuff was out for us too. I think it is the noodles because the texture of them has always bothered Logan too. He is just now starting to eat them. However he would always eat campbell's chicken noodle o's. He got such a kick out of picking up the little circular noodles that he would eat the entire bowl of noodles and the chicken too!
Well, I've rambled on long enough. Y'all take care!!!!
I never leave a comment, but I just have too say, Walker is the cutest thing EVER!! His personality is so awesome. I hate that I don't get to see him more and know it's my fault, but I enjoy checking up on him on your blog weekly. Thanks for taking the time to share him with the rest of us. We love you all! Love, Brandi
I know yall are having a BALL with both of you home for the summer! I am completely jealous. I know this year will be even harder on me going back to school because Ryleigh is changing so much to me now – even more than last year! Seeing her daily all day long has been so much fun for me! Although she is going to the babysitters two days a week for part of the day in order for me to get some productive stuff done!
Ryleigh did not like the stage 3 foods at ALL! We gradually started doing real foods straight from Stage 2. She would only eat Stage 3 cereal…. And still does some mornings.
He is SUCH a doll! It is so funny the things babies do. Maybe he is covering his mouth to feel he has some control over eating since they are getting all "independent"... yay right!
Congrats on the weight loss! Women's weight loss is like dog years compared to guys. The scale says 7 lbs, but it is really, like, 49. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)
