Old Friends, Good Times

I got together with my childhood best friends the other day. It is always so great to spend time with Heather and April. Since Heather lives in Chattanooga now, we only get to see one another about once a year. However, when we all get together it feels like it always has. These are the friends who I remember things about when they were little that THEY don't even remember...and vice versa. We've gone through so much together, and I am so blessed to still have them in my life. So many people lose touch with childhood friends...but I know that in these girls, I have friends forever!
Walker and Addison (Heather's baby) had never met and they really enjoyed each other's company.
We walked around this park for a while and then had dinner at a pasta place. Addison was an angel and stayed very quiet throughout the meal. Walker on the other hand was quite loud and wild.

I even managed to get a few dirty looks from the older lady at the next table. If you are a mom and you've taken your child in public, you know the one.

Heather and April kept reassuring me that he was FINE and that they thought he was acting totally normal for a kid in a restaurant. I wasn't so sure. :)

At one point in the weekend, Walker was wearing a bib that said "Wild One" on it. Either Heather or April commented that his bib was very fitting for his personality.

Cute.

Today he's been a little off. Not sure what's going on with him but he has just seemed extremely tired despite that he took a really long nap this morning. He's also been very mommy oriented which typically happens when he's getting sick. We'll see.

Through all this mess with the lump, I have been fairly confident and at peace. However, tonight I am dealing with mommy thoughts..."he's acting weird, did they miss something?" "why is he seeming so tired? could it be the lump?" "why is he all of a sudden spitting up so much and so hard? could it be the lump?" Isn't it funny how quickly our faith can need sharpening? I know I'll be praying hard tonight that God would remind me to trust in Him and to not be consumed with worry...especially about something I've been assured is completely ok. Ah...mommyhood.

Now for the best news. Daddy came home today!! Walker was very excited to see him. He just laughed and laughed a really goofy laugh at Cliff. Currently, Cliff is snoozing on the couch after a VERY long drive and Walker's sound asleep in his bed. I sure hope he stays asleep too as he gave me a very hard time when it was time for him to go down. I was getting so aggravated and Cliff goes "I missed this..." and he was dead serious. Now, I know that I would have felt the same way but in the moment and after having Walker mostly to myself this week and after having dealt with him be SOOO unbelievably clingy and whiny today, I thought Cliff was crazy. :)

Honey, I totally know what you mean about thinking Cliff must be crazy for missing the "hard to deal with parts". I am always home with Logan and Scott is at work most of the time. I am always burnt out and exhausted. Scott is always refreshed and thinks EVERYTHING is just funny and cute. Needless to say, I think Logan likes his Daddy more than me =) JK! Tonight at dinner I was telling Scott about your blog and Cliff saying "I missed this." I was telling him that it totally reminded me of him and how he never loses his cool even when I'm ready to cry. So, I asked Scott why he never gets upset or feels frustrated when Logan is going nuts. And his answer was simple, "It's just a guy thing, we don't get as worked up about stuff as y'all do, it's just not life or death stuff, so who really cares."
Wow, guys just don't care as much....... who would've guessed it?!?!?!
