GUCK?

It rained a little on Sunday. Our gutter drains are temporarily removed from our house due to painting. The rain was falling off the house and this is what Papa let Walker do. Of course they were both soaking wet and Walker had to change clothes before going with Papa and Grammie to their church. (But "he likes it" according to my Dad...OF COURSE HE LIKES IT. He will like a lot of things that he won't get to do...unless of course Papa's around)

We've gotten very brave with trying new foods as long as they are healthy and not a high risk allergy food. Today for lunch Walker had lima beans and absolutely loved them. He also had baby fruit but that wasn't as interesting to him. During lunch he did Cliff's favorite thing that he does right now, which is scrunch his nose up and breathe really fast and loud through it. You all know what I'm talking about...some of you are probably doing it right now. :) Here are some pics of him doing it while eating lima beans.

And this is just an adorable smile after I wised up and put a bib on him...about 5 minutes too late. We ended up having to change clothes before our nap. But playing naked is lots of fun!

This is a video of Walker just doing something random. He's kind of slowed down on the doing new things kick right now and he's just concentrating on getting better at the things he does, evidently. Just thought this was funny and I haven't posted a video on a while.

I went to the store today and stocked up on new foods for Walker. He's very interested in finger feeding himself and not really into the taste of the stage 3 foods. After talking to so many people who suggested I just move on, I decided to. :)
Today we got all sorts of stuff...some of the things now in our cabinet (or freezer/fridge) for Walker-baby breakfast bars, baby mum mums, fresh fruit, no salt added green beans, carrots, etc..., Gerber graduates diced foods (chicken sticks, peaches, pears, etc...) Yo Baby yogurt and more!
For dinner he had more lima beans, a yo baby yogurt and tiny pieces of fresh watermelon. He loved the watermelon. It was his first time. He ended with a baby mum-mum and then ate another mum-mum while Mommy, Daddy and Uncle Cory had our dinner.

Walker's been saying "guck" all day today. Not sure what guck means but I think he's been trying to say duck. He knows what a duck is and finds one of his many ducks when I ask where his duck is but he doesn't necessarily say the word while holding the object. He chattered "guck" "dada" all through Wal-Mart today. When he was in the bath tonight, Cliff, Cory and I were all crowded around. Uncle Cory was sitting on the side of the tub (and got very soaked...had to change before going to Aunt Red's house), Daddy was on the toilet and I was kneeling on the floor. Walker was being his usual ham self in the tub and started saying "guck" again. Uncle Cory was playing with the rubber duck and so we started showing him the duck and saying "DUCK" and once he said "guck." We told him he was trying hard. A few seconds later and after hearing us say "duck" over and over I think he just got tired of all the noise and pronounced "DUCK" to which we all broke into a loud clap with "Yays" and "good boys" included. He just looked from one to the next and smiled his little smile that knows he did something good.

Another Wal-Mart story. I handed him a box of macaroni noodles on the pasta aisle b/c he was getting antsy. We'd been there a while with me walking up and down the aisles wondering what he could and couldn't eat. Well, I guess I hadn't been paying him much attention for a minute or two because I looked down and he was chewing something. I grabbed the box and he'd chewed a stinking hole in it!! I saw bits and pieces of colored something on his lips but the cardboard from the box was no where to found. I'm assuming he ate it. He wouldn't let me get my fingers in his mouth and I got bit. (this is not a first...) It was just a tiny little Walker sized hole...but I don't know why I didn't see this coming because he chewed through a plastic pack of p-nut butter crackers the other day and a pack of saltines at Cracker Barrel the next day. He's a little goat.

This post was great! Everything he does reminds me of Logan. Logan also has two Papas (and many other family members) that allow him to do ANYTHING!!! It makes it hard to have rules once we get back home =) I love the snorty/sniffy thing he's doing with his nose. I had forgotten about Logan doing that. Glad Cliff is back home and you guys are having so much fun!
