So I know this isn't the typical picture a proud mom would normally post on her blog...but this is the BEST picture I have of his new teeth and I wanted you to see it. :) So, click on it and check out those chompers! (This one was taken after the one below. He was more than ready to get out of his chair at this point!)
This is gerber Spaghetti and Meat Sauce Dinner by the way. (stage 3) and Walker preferred to play in it. We don't typically let him do this sort of thing...but he did so well eating his noodles that we decided to let him explore those funny things that were hanging out of his mouth while he attempted to chew. :) I guess you eat spaghetti the same no matter how old you are, by slurping of course! So, after he'd eaten his dinner we gave him a dab to finger around. He put it in this mouth believe it or not...despite the fact that it looks like he got it everywhere but. He also decided to rub it all over his face. Yucky...but every parent has to have a spaghetti face picture, right??
We had a good day. Walker SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT last night...our child is back! At least for last night he was...tonight is still to be determined. But tonight he did go down closer to his normal bedtime and wasn't up partying nearly as late. He woke up at 6:30 this morning and I put him in our bed for our usual (as of late) cuddling session that summer has brought about and he fell back sound asleep and slept until 8:45!! Holy cow. I can't remember the last time I slept that late. It was nice. Then we spent the morning at home together and we then went to see Nonni for the afternoon. Walker and Daddy got in some quality time while Mommy went to keep the nursery at church. I don't think he's contagious anymore but I didn't want to chance exposing the babies at church to his germs.
Anyway, on to what I really signed on to post about. God's goodness. We were told yesterday that it was doubtful that we'd get an appointment at Scottish Rite or Egleston before our appointment at Rockdale on Monday, but I knew better and decided to pray regardless of what's the norm. Wouldn't you know it, in true God fashion, He showed us once again how His timing can defy all odds. We got a call today that we are in for an appointment tomorrow (Thursday) at 1:45. We are so thankful that we will be able to go sooner than we expected. We don't expect to know anything tomorrow and probably still won't know the results until Cliff's due to be away on his trip but the news will come much sooner than expected and for that we are thankful.
We know God is always faithful but in times like this when you are forced to be completely dependent and reliant on Him, you are really reminded how great that faithfulness is. It truly surpasses anything we can comprehend. When you have a relationship with the Lord, you come to recognize and crave a peace that is unexplainable and undeniable that comes solely from putting your trust in Him. God's provided Cliff and I with that peace. We feel confident that Walker is fine. If in two days our world is turned upside down, so be it because God knows exactly what He is doing and He gives us exactly what we need in each and every circumstance.
I believe I've posted this before...perhaps back during the grieving and healing we experienced when we lost our first baby...and now I hear it again in the back of my head...a constant singing voice...
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness,
Lord, unto me!
