I had a GREAT Spring Break. No, really. I did. I don't know WHY you sense sarcasm.
So basically, I had decided I was "over" my Spring Break experience and wasn't going to take the time to blog about it. But, I had a cell phone message from my dear friend Ashley about how she'd read my blog, but had NO idea what I'd done over Spring Break. So, I figured I better post. :) Surprisingly a few other people have also asked what I was referring to in my "more to come" statement from a previous post. Hope I didn't get hopes up too much, it really isn't that exciting!
You know about the wedding weekend. The rest wasn't nearly as exciting. It went a little like this...
Monday-
Great family day! We went to the park, and just had a nice time together as a family before Cliff had to leave to chaperone the 8th grade trip to D.C. No pictures to share from this day.

Tuesday-
Walker woke up and wanted to paint a picture for his Daddy, so we started the day out great, just like this...
Then, by about 10:30 we were more like this...
Long story short, Uncle Stephen, Walker & I went to get my car from Cliff's school so it wouldn't have to sit there all week and on the way there Walker started complaining of a stomach ache. Wait, did I say complaining?? I mean SCREAMING. The child came OUT of his car seat straps...and those things are TIGHT! Once we'd gotten my car and Stephen was driving it, Walker puked all over himself, the carseat and Cliff's truck. I whipped off the road, Uncle Stephen right behind me. We got Walker out and cleaned up...and let me just say Uncle Stephen didn't hesitate one bit to help out. He'll make a great Dad one day! We finally got home and Walker threw up all day long. That night, we had planned to go to Poppy & Grammie's for a spend the night fest...they convinced us to still come. They didn't want us to be alone to begin with, but were also worried I'd get sick in the night too. So, we went. :) Wednesday-
The next day, all seemed better. MUCH better. So much better that we decided to go ahead with our plans to go to Dauset Trails since Poppy & Stephen had taken off work! So, we went and the day was GREAT!
All seems well, so I decide to keep my hair appointment and leave Walker with Poppy for a bit. He had a great time playing outside and doing "boy" things and I got my haircut. I wasn't crazy about it at first because I didn't want it quite THIS short, and I wanted it more angled...but it's really "grown" (ha!) on me and I am lovin' it now! SOOOO easy to fix! I was super-excited about spending the night with Jenny, Audrey and Ava on Friday night and Walker was too. It was to be a blast!!!
Around noon, Poppy, Walker & I were all sitting in the livingroom watching T.V. Did I mention I never left my Dad & Kathy's house??? :) It was my home for 24 years-it still feels like home in so many aspects...plus the company and TLC is pretty awesome there...AND that woman can cook! Not to mention there are 3 guest beds that we can move around in if puke becomes a problem in the night. :) Well, out of nowhere, Walker started puking again. ALL DAY LONG. Then came the diarrhea and our return to diapers. We'd been in only pull-ups for months until this point. (except at bedtime) I was so sad, for many reasons...one of them being I knew that our slumber party at Jen's wasn't happening. Sad, sad day. I was mostly just sad though because my sweet boy was so sick.Cory & Angie got home from their honeymoon Thursday and were coming to visit. Since my dad insisted I get out and enjoy myself some, I gladly accompanied Angie to Target when she asked. Plus, we had LOTS to talk about! Walker hadn't puked in a few hours and appeared to be feeling lots better. So, we went. We both needed McDonalds frappes and got really angry at the first McDonalds who took our money and then informed us their machine was broken. (sidenote-they acted like WE were an inconvenience when we asked for our money back!) But, we weren't so frustrated that we weren't willing to drive across town to another McDonalds to ENSURE we got our frappes! I called Grammie to check in on Walker, and he'd puked again. Sniff. I was ready to go home to him.
So, the puking continued into...

Friday-
On Friday, Walker was still throwing up. So I decided to call his doctor. I knew they wouldn't do anything the first day or so, and wasn't sure they'd do anything at this point...but it was worth a shot, going into the weekend! Thankfully, they got us in around 2:20 that day and gave us a prescription for Zofran. LOVE that stuff! The puking stopped. Immediately. :) We had a nice evening Friday (at Dad's still), and got up Saturday ready for a great day of outdoor fun! Oh, we DID come home for a few hours on Friday to rest at our house and restock on clean clothes.
Saturday-
We had LOTS of outdoor fun on Saturday. One of the things we did was let Poppy pull us around on the broken go-cart using his lawn mower. I rode with him most of the time, but of course had to jump off to get a picture and Poppy went really slow while I wasn't on. Walker begged and begged to go more and more. So, Poppy did. :) This was OUR go-cart when we were kids.
Then later that day, we watched Donald cut down limbs from a tree. This was the neighborhood entertainment that day. I was SCARED-look how high he is!! You can't even begin to see the bottom of that tree trunk!
The boys "played" a little on the 4-wheeler...Then they all worked in the garden! And, I just love this picture of Cory & Walker on the 4-wheeler and Stephen & Jake on the tractor! Classic Mansfield. :)
Saturday night, Cliff got home and Kathy cooked a huge dinner. We all (minus Crystal, plus Jake & Donald) ate dinner together, and then we headed home finally. At this point, I was really ready to be home. I had just started feeling that way, so it was perfect timing. Walker ate great, and had a wonderful day all day Saturday. Late in the night, he started puking AGAIN.
Sunday-
None of us went to church Sunday, we all three stayed home. It wound up being a decent day. We spent some time together indoors, then Cliff took Walker to his parents once we seemed out of the puke-zone. They played outside for a while, then I drove over for dinner in between my housework.
And that's my Spring "Break" in a nutshell. But really, it was honestly an enjoyable week. No, it wasn't what I would have wished for my Spring Break and I would have much rather had my hubby at home...but Walker and I had a lot of special bonding time this week. Lots of very special moments...three of which I have to share!
Moment 1-Every morning he'd wake me up with a kiss on my cheek. Most mornings I was already secretly awake, but I knew if I faked sleep I'd get that wake-up kiss! TOTALLY worth the deception if you ask me!
Moment 2-Friday morning I was laying beside Walker when he FINALLY woke up at noon...yes, he slept until NOON! I forgot to mention that above...and was back asleep by 1, actually. He was a sick boy. But anyway, back to my moment. When he opened his eyes he reached up with both arms and pulled me to him in a hug. He either said "I love you SO much mommy", or "You are my best friend..." I can't remember which because both of those things happened during wake up time this week and I am just not real sure which one happened in this "moment..."
Moment 3-After our long nap together on Saturday, which started off rough b/c he wasn't being very compliant... I woke up before him. When I came back in to check on him at one point, he was waking up. He looked at me and said "Hi Mommy!" so I went to give him a hug and a kiss. When he squeezed my neck he said to me "I love you too many, mommy!" AHHHHH!
And to think-he had me at "Hi Mommy..."
