Caterpillars

Walker likes bugs, so discovering that dozens of caterpillars hang out on our deck was VERY exciting for him!

He played with this little guy for about 25 minutes. First he picked him and let him crawl on his hand and arm...

Then he put him on the rail and watched him crawl some more...
Then he decided he needed to let him slide...(I'm trying to decide how ethical this is, but for now I think it's cute...)

He didn't understand why the caterpillar kept turning around and didn't want to slide...

So, he decided to give him a ride down the slide...

Then he put him on the edge, and observed....

And made some cute faces while he watched...

Then he gathered the caterpillar's friends, well some of them at least, and put them all together on the slide...

No caterpillars were harmed during the process-though it's important to note that the original caterpillar (the one on the red) continued to hang out on the slide, long after the others went about their business. Perhaps he enjoyed Walker as much as Walker enjoyed him.
