Sometimes I feel guilty wishing time would quickly pass, because I know as the things I want to pass, are passing, so are the things I don't want to pass...like Walker's sweet little 14th month of life.
Nonetheless, I am ready for this week to pass. I had a stomach bug Sunday night from about 11:00-2:30 and Cliff's had a more powerful version of what I had since about 1:30 in the night (morning) Tuesday. It's Wednesday evening and he's still sick...poor guy. I feel so bad. I am hoping and praying Walker doesn't get this mess! (It's likely though because Cliff stayed home from work with him on Tuesday since we didn't have a sitter...)
Hopefully it will be out of our systems and we will all be healthy for Christmas. We have so much to be thankful for this Christmas.
We ate Tava's last night after doing some Target shopping. Walker decided to take care of some business while he was sitting next to mommy in the booth like a big boy. He stood up to look out the window (our booth was up against it) and started making some noises. When I asked him what he was doing he proudly & loudly proclaimed "DOO DOO." Nice...
Here are a few pictures from this week...
We will have to nip THIS in the bud, real fast! His Daddy was sick in the bed and didn't see in the act. ;) Notice the hair and the shadow it makes in the background. Cute!
He's really enjoying flips lately. Crazy kid.
Sunday night he got to spend the night with Nonni! We had dinner and stayed until bedtime and then we went home and he got to stay. He was so excited all day Sunday when we'd ask if he wanted to spend the night with Nonni. "Yaa! Yaa!" Judy has had jury duty this week and so we've had some alternative childcare situations...mom kept him on Monday and since Jer & Josh were both home, she wanted to keep him at her house. He had a blast...when she brought him home, he shook his head no and ran towards her car when I answered the door. It's nice to be appreciated. :) Here he is right after he knocked down a tower that Nonni built.
Sometimes I think this is a nice alternative to childcare... :)
Walker and I talked to Aunt Jenny (my wonderful friend Jenny) on the phone this afternoon. He was mumbling all sorts of words but wouldn't say any of the words I wanted him to say for her, of course. So, this one's for Jen! "Yaa Yaa!" He whispers it a few times first, so I keep asking the same question (annoying, I know) over and over until he finally does it out loud like he normally does. :) He's totally distracted by Blue's Clues. Then, notice how he totally makes the tractor go on accident and can't figure out what's going on! Crazy kid. I had to press stop really quickly on the camera because he was about to crash into the tree (which he did...and went under it) because he doesn't know how to stop quiet yet! Don't forget to notice the crazy hair. This is our reality right now.
He's really into identifying and naming body parts. There are some things he can only find on someone else and other things he prefers to find on himself. He likes to find our belly buttons...but he won't find his own. He thinks it's hilarious to stick his finger in my belly button and drill. I personally have always hated how this felt and don't enjoy it...but somehow it's cute when he does it. :) He slurs "beh-e-bu-on". Precious. He can also identify and find these body parts: elbow, knee, feet, toes, nose, thumb, hand, fingers, eyes, mouth, teeth, ears, and hair. Be careful if you ask where your teeth are though...those little fingernails are lethal when inserted into your mouth!! Ouch!
Cliff said that he said "thane ou" (thank you) three times on Tuesday but I have yet to hear him! Judy has told me he says it all the time too. As Jenny said today, he needs to get with the picture and show his mama some respect!! (Aunt Jenny is my favorite "go to" person for advice...I particularly like this advice)
He's also really saying names well..."gan-pa" (Grandpa...Barry), Nonni comes out perfectly from time to time, Papa, Dada, Mama (he's FINALLY started saying this again!), Gammie (Grammie), "Steeeeve" or Stee-en" (Stephen), "Cor" (Cory), "Gan" (Grandmommy or Grandaddy, interchangeably), "Bai-eee" (Bailey), "Dixie" comes out perfectly...why can he say the "x" sound and not some other easier letters??? "Kiss-tie" (Christie)...that's all I can think of for now.
Well, I guess I better go be productive! More to come, soon!
