Oh, the places you'll go...

I know I've said it before but I mean it even more now. Walker is all over the place! From time to time, I tempt fate and leave him alone for a half second...for instance, today I put him in the middle of his room away from all immediate danger and ran into the bathroom to run his bath water because Cliff was at the grocery store. I turned around after getting the water to an acceptable temperature and I wasn't alone in the bathroom. :) He follows us everywhere. If we go in the kitchen, he's right behind us.

That being said, the "baby cage" came out tonight and took up residence in our living room. I actually think I'm going to like it b/c it keeps all his toys in one confined space...an impossible task, otherwise. I think he will hate it though because he hasn't stayed in such a small area since he started crawling. We'll just have to see.
He is now sitting up completely on his own until he decides he is ready to lay down or crawl. He will sit for a really long time just watching or playing. Now that he's crawling full speed, andsitting up completely on his own, you can imagine what comes next. He's now pulling up on things to a standing position. Most of the time he only makes it to his knees before toppling over, but he has made it to standing a few times and it scares the daylights out of me! Here we go...
We're currently in mad decision making process about the bumper bad. He's a head conker and the night we took it out he rammed his head into the rails a million times. I kept hearing it over the monitor so Cliff put it back in that very night. Once he's asleep he's fine and it actually serves a great purpose because he scoots all over the bed in his sleep and bumps into something soft. But...if we lay him down before he's asleep, he's learned to pull it down and get almost on top of it and look out. Who knew there was life outside the crib??

Walker's made some meal time changes as well. He now has solids at every meal. He's having rice cereal with apples and a bottle in the morning, a veggie and fruit plus bottle at lunch and then two different veggies at night or a mixed veggie. He can't get enough and I sometimes worry I'm over feeding him but he does all the normal developmental things to let me know when he's full.
Walker's personality has really come out over the past two or three weeks. He is a very determined child and has a very opinionated mindset. He knows what he wants and he knows how to get it. If he doesn't get it...well, let's just say we've got a little work to do in that area when he can better understand. :)
He's also developing object permanance. He knows that at all times, Daddy's 360 is by the TV...no matter how many times we turn him the other direction and offer another toy. Some things you just can't get past him.

Cliff and I are doing great. I think we are more worn out these days than ever but at the same time more energized. Our little boy shows us new and exciting ways to enjoy life daily.
Stephen and Crystal are under contract on a house here in Covington and we are all very excited about that!

Here are a few pics of the things I've mentioned in this post...and some I didn't mention. Enjoy. :)
