What a busy weekend! Friday afternoon we had an appointment with my diabetic specialist. According to the ultrasound, Walker weighed 5 lbs and 12 oz. She said in 4 days, he'd be 6 lbs. So, that's tomorrow! He had dropped way lower since our last ultrasound (which I already knew from the fact that I FEEL it and because Patti told me when she checked me). They also did an NST (non-stress test) where they hooked us up to a monitor and for 20 minutes monitored his heartrate and my contraction rate. His heart was great...I had no contractions on the other hand. I really was disappointed. I wanted to have one while I was hooked up the monitor SO bad!
We spent LOTS of time with our families this weekend and managed to see all three of them. We did lots of eating! Friday night we had dinner with Dad and Stephen and I was a good girl when it came to my diet, despite Cliff telling me to eat alot so that Walker would grow and be a big boy like his Daddy. Saturday I spent the day with Mom's family and was finally able to see the cute little bed she'd gotten for Walker and all the other stuff she's been spending money on for him. I had a really great time that day as well. That night we had dinner at Dad and Kathy's to watch the Georgia game and Sunday after church we had lunch with Cliff's family. Now comes the confession! Crystal was coming to visit on Sunday so we were getting back together with Dad's family Sunday evening. We went to church at Milstead that night and then went out to dinner. We went to Steak-N-Shake. Enough said. All I will say is that I DID modify my normal Steak-N-Shake diet a tad...I ordered a JR milkshake instead of a normal sized one. I didn't feel one bit guilty either, not one bit. I've worked so hard at this diet thing and I had to have a milkshake, Steak-N-Shake burger and fries. It was WONDERFUL! My sugar was high that night, but not by much and I'm ok with it...just this once. No one said a word to me about it either, I think they knew I just really needed it.
The good news is that after my appointment on Friday, the diabetic specialist decided to release me from their care. I go back Thursday for my last ultrasound and NST and then I will be released to only the care of my normal doctor. I still have to follow my diet and check my sugar because Patti will be monitoring that, but things have gone so good with the diabetes that I no longer require special attention. I'm excited about this! (Although I will miss the fun ultrasounds, but I'd only be getting one more anyway if I make it to 40 weeks)
PS-Jessica Dial...I got your comment. Thank you so much! Please email me at roberts.nicole@gmail.com and tell me how to get in touch with you over email. I have no clue...Thanks!
