I love being Walker's mom! We had a great weekend! I love weekends, too!
We started the weekend with a yummy last-minute Tokyo dinner with Poppy, Grammie, Cory & Gi-Gi. Saturday, we got up and Cliff and Walker had "man time" while I got to go out shopping with Angie for some new clothes! Then we all went to Cliff & Cory's ball game. After that, we got busy cooking dinner for Grammie's Mothers Day dinner. We all ate in Mansfield at their house, and had a wonderful night.
Walker got in trouble at one point, for continuing to jump on Uncle Cory's tummy time and time again after Cory told him not to. So, eventually he had to get a spanking. When I took him to the back bedroom for his spanking he said "Oh no, what are you gonna do to me this time?" That made it really hard not to laugh!! Then, after the spanking "I want my Daaaaady!" (yes, they were laughing in the other room...)

When we got home, I got my Mothers Day present, since Cliff knew Sunday would be a little crazy. In addition to getting new clothes, Cliff & Walker surprised me with a new Vera Bradley spring purse! I love the pattern and the purse is my favorite style, so they did great!
I should mention that when I came in from shopping Walker said "Mommy! Daddy hid your present under his pants in the truck..." but never said another word. He's good at keeping the important part of secrets! Later, at Poppy's, Poppy asked him what it was (he whispered the question to Walker) and Walker whispered very loudly "a purse! Mommy!! We got you a PURSE!" Ah ha ha ha ha. My dad got a kick out of that one. :)
Walker made me this cute recipe holder in Sunday School. The butterflies painted all around the pot are made from his fingerprints. :) I LOVE it. You can't really tell from here because my phone didn't agree with the light, but this is BRIGHT and precious! This was by far my favorite part of Mothers Day gifts. :) When we got to the nursery to pick him up, he grabbed it off the counter and came running to me. He was so excited to give it to me. Oh, but then when we got outside he informed me that "only me and Daddy are going in the truck mommy. You have to go in your car. Because me and Daddy are a team. Team Roberts. And we listen to the ants. Only us." How sweet, my dear little one! (I rode with them anyway!)
Walker's been saying lots of funny things, as always. I'm really disappointed because I had a list I'd been keeping and I can't find it anywhere. Of course, my memory fails me...but I do have a few examples. If he wants to do something that we don't necessarily want him to, and we discourage, he might reply "But, it's my Joooobbb, mom..."On Saturday he woke up asking for Zaxby's. ??? We rarely eat there, though it's way yummy...so Cliff told him that he could go. When he found out I wasn't going, but rather would be shopping with Gi-Gi, he said "but mommy, you HAVE to go. You are part of our AUDIENCE!" Though he used that word incredibly incorrectly, I am learning more and more that I am TRULY part of their audience!
He is a daddy's boy! He and his Daddy are best buds, but they make lots of special time for Mommy too.
Sometimes (well, alot of times...) when he has to go to time-out, he will utter "oh no, not THIS again...this ALWAYS happens to me!" He's such a drama-king!
This afternoon he wanted me to run...and run...and run. We ran for about 30 minutes. If I'd stop, he'd blow "energy" onto my butt. Who knows? He'd stand behind me and blow wind at my butt and say "I gave you more energy, now RUN!" and so I'd run... At one point, Cliff asked him what kind of energy he was giving me, I am sure hoping he'd say kinetic energry since he's taught him about that. :) But instead, he said "Green energy!" Who knows???
Tonight, he was helping Cliff replace a lightbulb. He has to help Cliff do everything, by the way. This particular evening he flipped his toddle Little Tikes chair over and tumbled to the ground. Cliff giggled in response. Walker stood up, made a really "mean" face and went into the livingroom, where he tripped and fell again. (the child hasn't had a nap today-apparently lack of sleep makes one trip). He laid on the ground and pouted (he's GREAT at this!) saying, "Daddy teased me for falling and that's NOT nice!"
No, it wasn't...and Daddy apologized. :)
