CHRISTMAS 2009

Christmas 2009 was lots of fun. It's so neat having a 2 year old! First, here are a few pics of how we celebrated Christmas.
This is Walker on Christmas Eve, just before bed when he put out the cookies & milk for Santa...notice the toy lettuce also on the plate-he said Santa needed some salad too. :)

Here is all the stuff Santa left...Santa had lots of fun!

On Christmas morning, Walker was very excited. He was very calm and would say "oh, a firestation. Oh, bubbles...Oh, a DVD", etc... He said "oh!" with so much excitement in his voice. :) The next few pics are just of him playing with some of his toys on Christmas morning.

I know the box for Hungry, Hungry Hippos says 4 and up...BUT...he played it at Cliff's aunt's house the other weekend and loved it, so Santa made a last minute stop. He totally gets the concept too, and so it's fun to play with him. The marbles stay put away and he has to ask to use them. :)
Below, starts the pics of Christmas with all the grandparents. There were WAY too many pics, toys, etc to post...so I picked a few of my favorite pics of him playing with some of his favorite gifts.
We had Christmas breakfast at Grandmama's and Grandaddy's. Walker got some fireman gear...

...and then his very own battery powered FIRETRUCK. He literally rode this up and down the hall while we opened presents. :)

Here he is at Nonni's and Gampa's where we spent Christmas night. He's helping Jer and Gampa put together his tool bench. He loves his tool bench and all his tools...I do NOT love all his tools. He has about 50-good gracious!
Here we are at Poppy & Grammie's the day after Christmas. There, he got several other gifts...one of them being this cool firetruck that sprays water out of the hose. This firetruck stayed at Grammie and Poppy's so that she could figure out a way to put a bell on it...but in my opinion it's STAYING there for GOOD. We got wayyyy to wet that night. :) (sorry, Grammie!)
We had a great Christmas. Walker was, of course, so fun and sweet. He is so verbal and it's just so neat to hear him talking and interacting with others. People kept telling us they felt like they were talking to a 4 or 5 year old. (sometimes, that's not always a good thing...)
Some of the cute things that have happened over the past few days, I jotted down so I wouldn't forget in the madness of Christmas.
On Christmas night at Nonni's we were getting ready to say the blessing and Walker said he wanted to say it. So, he closed his eyes, but said nothing. I peeked and he was looking dead at Cliff. Then he very sternly said "take off your hat, DADDY." Ah ha ha ha ha. I don't know where he's heard this, but it was hilarious. Everyone cracked up and it was hard to stay quiet for his blessing b/c it was equally as cute. He said "God our faver, once again. We like to dank you. Amen." Soooooo sweet. I love my child.
Lately he's been telling us he's cute. If he is doing something he isn't sure how we'll react to, or that he knows we don't really like for him to do, he says "I so cute, Mommy..." (and he is, but don't you dare tell him!)
He wanted to dress up like a princess (after watching Max & Ruby the other day) and so he went into my room and pulled one of my drawers out of the jewelry armoir. He put on ALL the necklaces in it and said "look at me, Daddy, I a princess. I sooo pretty." (YIKES!) I won't even get into what Cliff's reaction was. :)
He's all about some running around naked. This morning he asked me if he could run around naked and go wake Daddy up. He said "take off my pants and my shirt, mommy." So, I did because I needed to get him dressed anyway...then he said "take of my diaper, I want to run around naked like Daddy." ...um, for the record, Cliff does NOT run around naked!...
He settled for just having his pants and shirt come off. But, he'd stay naked all day long if I let him. (Walker, not Cliff!)
Later in the morning, he wanted to wear necklaces again...Cliff told him that boys DO NOT wear necklaces to which Walker replied. "I cute Daddy, Daddy do wear necklaces too." He he.
He's extremely terrified of monsters, tigers and dinosaurs right now. He will randomly say things like "no monsters coming, I not scared. I big boy." and other things of the like. He thinks tigers and monsters are trying to get in our car and he's scared to drive on Elks Club Rd because there are tigers and monsters there. He will scream at us when we go that way (which is often b/c it's our way to Covington), and beg to "take a left and go the other way..." (we ARE taking a left, but apparently he thinks we are taking a right.) This morning he argued with Cliff. "No Daddy, dat not left. Udder way is left. Go take a left and go udder way." It's comical, actually...but sad too that he's afraid. :(
We were leaving church in the dark the other night and stopped at a stop sign. He said "hurry Daddy, go! That monster is coming to get me..." He also has told me on many occasion that tigers are trying to get in the car while we are driving. Like I said before, we take advantage of car time and carry on conversations the entire time-there's never a dull moment!
We're really enjoying our time at home. I love the week after Christmas because everything slows down and we can just truly enjoy being home as a family. Who knew you could have so much fun with a firestation??? :)
