One of the things Cliff brought into our marriage, is the tradition of going to a tree farm to chop down our tree. This has been an important and fun part of the holidays for us for many years now and it's just getting more and more fun with Walker being around. He was so excited to go to the tree farm. Here comes picture overload...

He ran from tree to tree to tree...

...and in between trees too. In fact, I don't know that he STOPPED running until we started sawing down our tree and then he got really interested in that! He kept saying "I need to RUN mommy!" And, so he did.

Sizing up our tree and deciding if it's "the one..."

Who doesn't like to fall in a hole from time to time???

We also played Hide-n-Seek. This is one of his current fav games to play.

Here he is proudly posing with our tree that his Dad had just cut down while Walker climbed on his back as if they were playing horsey.

And this is his face after he touched the prickly needles of the tree. He said "Ouch! Dis Tree too hard!" (by the way...EXCELLENT strategy for getting them to leave the tree alone!)

"Helping" his Dad haul the tree back to the truck...

...and this is what he does with the tree now. Plays firetrucks under it of course. I mean, what do YOU do with your tree????

I convinced him to stop and pose with mommy in front of the tree.

And here is his completely SELF decorated tree. He hung every single ornament himself, I think he did a really good job!

One of the many things that put a smile on my face...well after he's in bed, I discover firetrucks under the tree skirt-what a cool garage!

Just being cute with his "boots" as he calls them. You may know them as stockings...

...and here he is playing Hide-N-Seek again!
We haven't fully decorated yet, but I'm thinking we've done what we are going to do. I've always been a "less is more" kind of person, and this year I think I'm adopting that philosophy with my decorating. The tree looks like what Walker wants it to look like-complete with the hideous candy garland from my mom's tree when I was younger. But, who can say no to that little boys adorable pleading to have candy on his Kissmas Tee???? :)
*sidenote-the tree fell over after it was fully decorated. it's secured now by some of walker's blocks and some restructuring of the tree stand. :) that's the 2nd time we've had a tree fall in our marriage...but who's counting? as cliff has said many times about this particular tree "it's all just part of it, baby..."
Have I mentioned lately that I love my life?
