I'm a little behind on my blog... I've wanted to wait until I had time to write (or the desire to write) so that I could tell all the cute little Walker stories from Christmas...but, I think a mostly picture post will have to do for now!

We had a wonderful Christmas...we started our Christmas Eve by going to the Christmas Eve service at Mansfield with my family and then heading to Aunt D's for Christmas Eve dinner. Oh...here is our new van, pictured above, BEFORE it was stolen from our driveway. (more about that in another post)

Then we got home and made cookies and milk for Santa, had a piece of the birthday cake we baked for Jesus earlier that day and went to bed...well, one of us did anyway. :)

Santa came to visit!!

...and someone was really happy!

Poppy and Grammie came over to see all that Santa left early that morning...

...and Walker enjoyed his new toys!

Then we went to our traditional Christmas breakfast at Grandmommy & Grandaddy's...and then opened lots of presents!

...and sawed down some trees. :)

Then we spent the afternoon at home playing with some favorite new toys...(we recently bought another one of these since one piece of it got left in our van the night it was stolen and he has been so sad.)

Then Nonni, Grampa, Jeremy and Josh came to our house and we played and opened presents with them...

This remote control monster truck from Jer & Josh is almost as big as he is!

That night, we had Christmas dinner at Aunt Cindy's with the whole family! We had lots of fun as always...

Then as a special treat, we also did Christmas with Grammie, Poppy, Cor-Cor, Gi-Gi,Stephen & Crystal on Christmas night. We normally don't do Christmas with Dad's family until the day after since we are all over the place on Christmas and now we are all married and have more than one family. But, whenever snow comes to town, the kids go home...and that's exactly what happened this night. :) It was a really special night and we are glad S & C were home!

Walker was extremely happy to get a new jumpy from Grammie & Poppy since his got busted a while back from having way too many kids in it at once.

This Christmas was just perfect. Everything about it was wonderful. Even though we did alot in one day, nothing about the day felt rushed or stressful. We were really able to focus on the meaning behind Christmas and share that with Walker this year. He was equally as excited about celebrating Jesus' birthday as he was about Santa coming. I love, love, love being a parent at Christmas...I used to watch the grown-ups on Christmas morning when I was little and think how boring it must be for them. But now, I know better. SUCH joy. I cannot wait until next Christmas when we have a 9 month old and a 4 year old. God is so good!
One funny story from Christmas I can't end this blog without telling about... During the part of the day when mom, Barry, Jer and josh were here Walker disappeared for a few minutes. Mom went to look for him and found him locked in his room. He wouldn't open the door and wouldn't answer her. She came back and said "I think he fell asleep..." I said that if the door was locked and he wasn't answering, he'd snuck some candy. She couldn't believe I'd even suggest it. :) Well, we went and listened at the door and sure enough we hear wrappers. :) I knocked and told him to let me in right now. He came to the door, unlocked it and then quickly ran back across the room. When I opened it, he was leaned over backwards with the back of his head on the bed and his tummy in the air...feet on the ground. Under his head you see a MOUND of M&M's. BOOYAH, I know my child better than my mom! He had a huge grin on his face and chocolate drool running down his chin. I asked what he was doing and he mumbled with his mouth full something that sounded like "eeeunnn chawwet." lol. He couldn't even talk he'd stuffed it so full in hopes of getting a last taste before he was caught. My mom of course started dying laughing. Then we look and see that he'd gotten one of those large bags of M & M's out of the cabinet, gotten his kids' scissors and cut it open. He dumped it on his bed and was "hiding" the evidence by laying over it. When I asked him why he locked the door he said "Because I didn't want you to say..." (and then he changed his voice to CLEARLY mock me!) "Walker if you do that again you won't get any toys for Christmas!" HA HA HA HA HA. He won. I totally gave in to the laughter and so did my mom. It was soooo stinkin funny. He knew exactly what I would have said. Can you tell I might have overused that phrase? Sometimes you just have to laugh. Afterall, it was Christmas. :)
