So, we had a really fun weekend last weekend! I love those weekends where nothing's planned but good ole' family fun! Walker and I started the weekend off right by falling asleep on the couch Friday night around 7:30 and basically sleeping until 8 the next morning...(ok, I woke up a few times for a few minutes here and there but mainly, I slept).
When we got up Saturday morning, Cliff and I both were itchin' for some good fun. So, we decided to head up to Stone Mountain and ride the train. Come on ride that train, and ride it. Woo woo. (sorry). Any good outing begins with breakfast, so we stopped at Bojangles (or Bejingles as Walker calls it) for some biscuits. Then we headed to the mountain. Walker was super excited to ride "Thomas..." ...we kept telling him it wasn't Thomas, just a train-one of Thomas's friends. He didn't buy it. :) Upon arriving, we noticed that we were parked right near the ducks. So, since we'd heard lots of great things about them, we decided to give it a whirl. It was fun and I am glad we can say we did it once, but I don't think we'll be spending the $25 to do it again. Maybe if Walker had been a bit older it would have been more fun with the duck beaks??
Then we went to ride the train...oh, the long awaited train! Walker was soooooo excited. That doesn't even begin to describe it. Then, we JUST missed it...so we had to wait about 30 minutes for the next one, but we entertained ourselves playing in front of the mountain until the train came back. THEN we got to get SO close and watch it roll back into the station. (picture below). Walker kept saying "All Aboard" while we were riding the train and then at the very end he fell sound asleep...sweet boy. :)
It was a great day-and it made us SO excited for when we go meet the REAL Thomas in Oct. Oh-and while I was going potty, Walker & Cliff determined that it was actually Percy that we were riding on because "he" was green. Ok, whatever... :) I know that Thomas and Percy live on the Island of Sodor, not Stone Mountain, even if no one else in my family believes it!
Here are some pics from our fun.
He is starting to improvise for "w" words I think-he says "Gawker CAME up" when he wakes up, instead of using the word "wake." We've corrected him many times, but he continues to do it...it's really cute.
I was leaning my face on him today watching tv and he pushed on it and said "Mommy turn back dat way and dotch tv peese." ha ha ha ha. Already, it starts!
