2 is just around the corner...

I feel so behind on all things "blog" these days. I lack the motivation to post and I can't seem to find the time, anyway. I'm considering "closing" my blog after Walker's 2nd birthday, which is next week. We'll see. I've been thinking about it off and on for a few months now...
A few weekends ago, we went to spend the night with Nonnie, Gampa, Jer-me, and Josh! Walker has so much fun with his uncles. He was in mid-air here, jumping off Jer-me.
One of Walker's favorite things to do outside is "sing" on his tummy. He flies through the air...I don't even get nervous anymore-he's such the daredevil. Oh how things have changed-he used to be so timid.
I just love this picture. This is from Cliff's 2nd football game this season...
Do NOT be fooled by this cute grin! He'd just run over Cliff's feet...intentionally...and was circling back around to do it again, and again, and again!
So, this is "Neigh-Neigh." Neigh-Neigh, you might ask? Yes. Cliff's aunt & uncle gave us this hand-me-down horse. Walker was excited to have one at home to play with like he has one at Grammie's house. When Judy asked him what the horse's name was, he said "Neigh-Neigh." This was not rehearsed or even discussed with us. The next night, we were playing in the playroom and he said to me "Mommy! Neigh-Neigh hungee." So, I asked him what Neigh-Neigh wanted to eat and he said "gasss!" (grass). So, he got his red bucket that is normally home to hise cars and filled it up with imaginary grass and fed Neigh-Neigh...and HE made the smacking noises. His imagination is alive and well! He does these kinds of things all the time. The other night, he "cooked" me chicken nuggets and brought them to me, calling them "yummy chicken nuggets..."
The preschool department at church had a Grandparents' Day Breakfast this past Sunday. Walker enjoyed dining with Gampa, Nonnie and Grandmama. He especially liked eating the food...you can tell he so enjoyed their company that he didn't want to look at the camera.

Walker has a new Sunday School teacher, Ms. Beth, and he loves her already. So do Mommy and Daddy! Ms. Beth has been sending Walker postcards in the mail and making really cool stuff with him. Here he is holding his pillars of fire. The one in his right hand is made from a flashlight and since he loves playing with flashlights he finds that one especially cool. He's been talking ALOT about Baby Moses and that thrills my heart. I can tell he's really learning in class.
We went out of town this past weekend (post to come over the weekend, perhaps about that) and while we were gone, my Mamaw (God love her) came to my house and did LOTS of work in the yard. This piece of property you see, I have never stepped foot on our entire 6 years of marriage until this weekend. She completely cleared it out. It literally was a jungle before-you couldn't even get through it. It's sooo awesome to have the extra space for Walker to play and he's loving it. He keeps saying "Mamaw keened the yard. Yay, new yard!" Ha ha...
Does anyone else think "hamster" when they see this? Just wondering.
The mommy/Walker self-posed pictures have been revived! Here is one today from my unexpected day at home with him. Judy was sick and I didn't know who to call at such short notice...but I really enjoyed a day off with him. Normally if I miss work, it's because he's sick and those typically are not "fun" days... So, we did lots of playing and had lunch at Chicka-A!
He likes to try to see where the ball goes...and here are his new shoes. Size 8, yikes!
This is his "if you mess with my mama, I'll beat you over the head with my orange bowling pin" face... :) No really, I just thought he looked extra grown here, so I posted it. I can't believe 2 is just around the corner!
I just thought he looked cute on the way to Daddy's ballgame, so I snapped this picture before we drove off.
Apparently Judy has been talking to Walker about his birthday. Goodness knows it's snuck up on me...but he walks around the house singing "Happy Birthday" to himself these days. Except the other day when he told me he wasn't having a party anymore. He walked up and said "no birthday mommy, no Thomas chain party..." (hate it kid, the decor has already been purchased)

For whatever reason, he's recently started using "my" instead of "I" almost everytime. He used to not do this. Oh well, it's cute and harmless...developmental. (at the moment)
"My did it!" "My seep in mommy's bed." "My watch Fireman Sam..."

Speaking of sleep-he's been doing WONDERFUL in his room. We can now leave the door open again and he falls right asleep with no attempts to come out. No more locking him in...but it definitely paid off. Sometimes the hardest things in parenting have the biggest rewards to accompany them.

I was kissing him all over the face the other day and then I stopped. So he said "more kisses mommy. more kisses!" Favorite thing ever. He's so stinkin affectionate and I love it.
