The Park!

We had a great afternoon at the park! Walker (and mommy and daddy) loved all the fun things to do! He climbed like a little monkey, making me extremely nervous...but also making it clear that he did NOT need our help. :) He did let us help him on the big slides & swings though! Here are some of the fun things we did. (I did alot of the tunnel climbing, etc but somehow when I picked out these pics I got all pics of Cliff playing...oh well) :)

He thought this was the jumpy bridge. We jumped on the jumpy bridge lots, but then he tried to jump here...just didn't get the same effect. :)

Time to go home...I LOVE this picture!

After the park, Walker & I went to Walmart while Cliff went to a meeting. I was feeling a little generous, so Walker got 4 new books-ABC's, Colors, Potty and Old McDonald (of course, because he got to pick ONE of them...). He also got a new bath toy which he LOVED and I had the hardest time getting him out of the tub tonight. He water was freezing by the time I finally pulled him out. He got new sunglasses which he wore on the car ride home, so funny...and then a brand new tricycle!! He was SO excited and proud!! When we got home from church tonight, we played outside more and tried out his new wheels...

And...every little boy has to have a first time falling off a bike. :)

We had a great day!!
The morning started off a bit emotional for me. Walker seems to be experiencing more of the separation anxiety at church that he'd gotten over for a few months. This morning was very difficult. Ms Cynthia, God bless her, is so patient with my child and I love her for it. I am so thankful for all the people we have in our lives that love Walker so much. Crystal (my sister) and I were talking tonight and I realized that I hadn't even been praying for Walker in this aspect. She and I both decided we were going to commit to praying for this sweet child to overcome these anxieties that seem to have such a hold on him. It's hardest just to see the vibrant, social and wonderfully gifted personality seem to just crumble in some circumstances. He almost seems scared lately to be away from me and that breaks my heart in the deepest way. If you feel obliged, feel free to pray along with us that he'd be able to move past this time and that God would strengthen me emotionally do deal with it while we're in the midst. He does seem to still be doing a great job of playing with other kids though, so at least we're ok there! :)
Just a few other things from the week...Judy brought over a game. It's where you have a mama animal and you match it to her baby. So, she'd show him the mama and then show him about 4-5 cards of babies and he had to find the right baby. She said he did it THREE times and then got bored. But, wow! He's just so smart. :)
Anything that he can fit his body into that doesn't already have wheels on it becomes a "boat..." and he goes "fishing..." It's sooo cute!
He hid under the bed in the guest bedroom the other day when I told him it was time for a nap!! WHAT??!?
He knows how to lock me out of the bathroom, and that ain't cool! He shuts the door and immediately pulls out the drawer, which blocks the door from opening. I can open the door about an inch...just enough to see light coming through. He flushed the toilet and I thougth "oh gosh, not again!" so I said "Walker, open the door NOW!" and he did. :) At least he minds, SOMETIMES. Luckily, he'd thrown something big enough to not flush in this time, so I was able to fish it out.

Katie is having super serious separation anxiety too. This is very recent, and mostly at the church nursery as well. On Sunday I had to pry each of her fingers off of my arms as well as both of her feet. I will pray for both Walker and Katie to get over this SOON.

Jamie is starting to get that too and she never had it before... it is just their age I guess. LOVE the family picture at the park! Ya'll look so cute! He is such a little doll.

How is the potty coming along? I think I'll post about Jamie's newest thing in regards to it... very funny.

With boys, I think there is something about the third birthday party. There is something the baker puts in the cake that makes them instantly potty trained! Why fight it. And really... they have HORRIBLE aim so why even start THAT whole problem now! haha. I mean, are boys ever FULLY potty trained??? :-)

Did you mean for all of you to be wearing blue? The pictures from the park are great!
