Walker likes to bang on things. I am not sure if this means he will be a drummer or if it means he learned a little something from my students when he was still in my tummy. Between the two, I'm rooting for the drummer myself. :) (It would make his Aunt Red proud!)
We've had an interesting few days at our house. Walker seems to be going through what we HOPE AND PRAY is only a phase. He has turned in to Mr. Cranky Pants at night. I know he's still trying to cut that tooth through and I can tell it's affecting him way more than his first two did. His diapers are totally different, he's chewing and rubbing his gums on everything in sight and making interesting noises while trying to get the object to his top gum. Despite all this, he is still sleeping through the night and for that, I can't ever complain!
More and more he's letting go and free-standing for a few seconds. He isn't really sure what to do afterwards, so he just falls down.
Still not talking anything but jibberish. He will repeat really random things but only once and even then we question whether we really heard what we think we did or not. Only time will tell.
His schedule has done a 180 since last week. The perfect little 3 meal and a snack schedule we had him on last week is a thing of the past, as he has decided that bottles DO NOT go with meals.
Therefore, he changed. Yes, he's in control. He is very much able to let us know this truth.
Here's the rundown:
7:30-oatmeal and fruit
8:30-bottle
11:30-veggies and fruit
1:00-bottle
5:00 or 5:30-veggies (2 kinds) and fruit
and then anywhere between 6:00 and 7:30 he's ready for his bedtime bottle. This means on most nights, the fun is about to begin.
Still not a bad schedule, just not as "easy" and structured as the one he had him self on before, but that's ok b/c I do feel this one offers us a little more freedom.
We had a nice weekend. We celebrated some exciting things. On Friday night our church hosted a shower for Stephen and Crystal. This was their last shower before the wedding and they got lots of great stuff. Just before the shower, they closed on their house here in Covington! They are officially homeowners now. Then Saturday morning we trudged to Milledgeville to attend their graduation. We are all so proud of them! Saturday afternoon we had a graduation/Mother's Day cookout at our house and then Sunday we attended Dad's church to hear Kathy speak. It was Women's Day in honor of Mother's Day so Dad got a Sunday off from preaching and Kathy took over. (How it is that SHE ended up "working" on Mother's Day, I don't know...) Then we headed to lunch at Christie's for Cliff's mom and that afternoon we made a beeline to Rutledge for dinner with mom's side of the family at Cindy's house. I will say that Walker and I didn't get much time together on Mother's Day, but the Lord willing, we will have many, many more together...and I know there will come a day when I wish we were traveling all over the place on a day like Mother's Day. So, we rejoice that we can do it now and that we are so blessed to have not 1, not 2 but 3 moms to celebrate.
I know this has been a random post. But, it's what I got. :)
Here are a few other random pics from the past few days. :) Enjoy!

I think Jamie is on the Walker Plan... I can't get her to mimic a sound I make to save my life but she is already trying to stand. Maybe it is a covington thing?
