DAAA-DE!

Sometimes Walker closes his eyes when the bedtime bottle goes in and that's the last we hear of him until morning. Sometimes not. Tonight, I walked over to see one of our across the street neighbors who had just become engaged and Cliff was putting Walker down. After not hearing anything for quite some time, I poked my head in Walker's room and this is what I saw. What a sweet sight! When mommy puts him down (we share pretty evenly) he plays with my hair between his fingers. I guess the red hat is a little more distracting. Not 5 minutes after this picture was taken, he snuggle up against Daddy and met sleep.

Uncle Jeremy stopped by to visit the other day. This was a great treat for Walker because Uncle Jer lives in Statesboro and Walker doesn't get to see him very often. They had lots of fun!

This is Walker's new favorite thing to do. (inside, that is) He loves, loves, loves to be outside more than anything. But, if he can't get out on his own, he finds a way to observe what is going on out there. He thinks birds are so cool and he likes to watch the trees blow in the wind. We've had lots of wind lately. He talks more standing at this window than in any other situation.

This is an outside looking in view of what Cliff gets to see in the afternoon's when he comes home. I compare Walker to a dog I had growing up. The dog always somehow knew when it was time for us to get out of school and he'd be waiting in the street beside our church (which was beside our school) for us. Walker knows about when it's time for Daddy everyday. This is from the window beside our front door. Lots of little mouth and handprints have taken up residence there.

Another fun plan to play! Underneathe the table is where Walker spends alot of his time. He likes to climb on anything and there's lots of monkey playground type things under the table to do. At Ms. Angela's house on Fridays, he crawls over the bar that runs from one side of her table to the other. As Casey (Ms. Angela's husband) puts it...you just never know when it comes to Walker. :)

I celebrated Crystal's last Saturday as a single gal this weekend. Of course we had our traditional photo of the three of us taken together. We had the best time with all Crystal's bridesmaids. We ate lunch, went and played putt-putt and road a ROLLER COASTER and then headed back to Crystal's house to work on favors and folding programs. Then we ordered pizza and chatted. Finally we watched 27 Dresses and then Angie and I started the treck back home. We had a great time and are super-pumped for the wedding this coming weekend!

Walker said DAA-DE this weekend!! He said it twice. Of course, someone in this house is VERY excited about that. :) We both are actually. I am just excited about the morning when we hear that sweet little voice calling DAAA-DE over the monitor at 5:45 AM. Oh the joys!

I also think he's trying to say BIRD. Whenever I say bird he looks at me so funny and whispers something and then will sometimes make a sound that sounds like he is trying so hard. Other times he will just whisper but he always looks. That's the one word that consistently grabs his attention besides "outside." He KNOWS "outside" and if you say it, he's making a mad dash to the front door. This reminds me of yet another dog, Bailey. I cannot believe I have compared Walker to a dog twice in this post. But, you know...this stage is kind of like having a puppy. Hyper. Pees. Spits up. Runs. Jumps. Scampers. Poops. Yep, like a puppy.

He is SUCH a cutie!!! Congrats on him saying Daddy! I'm right there with ya, I'd be just as happy too... that's the difference between mom's and dad's - we want milestones, they want to WIN! ha-ha. So is that his first word? Jamie has still yet to grace us with a word...sigh. :-)
