We have our hands FULL. I know I've said it before but I mean it now more than ever. He is into everything and learning more and more everyday. He's really learning how things work now and what makes what happen. He knows how to push certain buttons to make his toys spin, make noise and talk.
Along with this comes the knowledge of how to open and close a door. He does this daily. Just a few days ago, I'd say he was doing it once a day or so. As of yesterday, any chance he can get his hands on the door he is closing it. (with me on the OUTSIDE because it's more fun that way) But this morning he started where he would get it almost closed and then stick his fingers in the crack and pull it back open. So, now he's done that all day. I know he will most likely get his fingers slammed. We watch him very closely, don't worry.
We've decided we are going to enter him into the bath olympics. (there's really no such thing...) He is craziness in the bathtub. There's no other way to describe it. For those of you still using an infant tub...what ARE you giving your baby before you put them in it?? :) He's been in the big boy tub a while now but is getting very brave for his little britches. He literally spends the entire time doing this: crawl, pick up cup, drink out of cup, crawl, pick up cup, oooh! stand up and see mommy, jump back down and land hard on booty and then laugh, crawl, cup, stand, wash cloth in mouth, dip face...ooh, that was neat. dip face again. crawl. stand. jump down on booty and laugh. crawl. drink bath water out of cup. You get the idea. He has one of those solo plastic cups you have at picnics in the tub. He tried and tried the other night to drink out of it and I didn't worry much because I knew he couldn't figure it out. Well guess what? He did. The child had it filled with tub water and DRANK the stuff just like an adult. I cannot believe he knows how to drink out of a grown-up cup without someone holding it for him. I had to call Cliff in to see it, so he got to drink some more. No telling what he was actually drinking. We won't even go there.
This morning while I was getting ready he was playing the open and shut game with the door. He noticed a stand up mirror propped behind the bedroom door. He went to get it and I quickly grabbed him and pushed the door as far wide as it would go so as to hide the mirror then I took him across the room. As soon as I put him down he made a beeline for the door, pushed it aside and got to the mirror. I have a smart kid. Not much gets past him. So, I decided that a little friendly "experience" might help him learn not to play. The mirror is very light. Well he pulled up on it because he of course still has to stand all the time and it came down on him in the lightest possible way. Know what he did? LAUGHED. The little booger cackled like you wouldn't believe. So, of course he wanted to do it again. My plan backfired. Oh well, on to a new strategy. I should have known better...he's not ordinary child.
He's very much the climber. We call him our little monkey. (among other things...) He climbs all over everything, including INTO the dishwasher. WHY do we let him do these things????

The wedding is Saturday! I will definitely be updating next week with pics of the beautiful bride and her groom. (and maybe a few of Walker in his wedding attire as well...) :)

ahhh..the joys of motherhood. sigh. :-)
Nicole, honey, I just have to tell you that I am praying for you all the time!! Walker is doing EXACTLY what Logan did at that age. And still, to this day, he is just one big ball of energy and dirt :) The only way we could get Logan to stay still in a room at that age was to play a baby einstein dvd for him. He loved those and it gave me enough time to cook dinner or make a phone call if I had to. I love Logan so much. And I have always been very happy when he went to bed at night!
But, honestly, these active boys are the most fun and they make your life a whirlwind of happiness and love!!!
Walker is so so cute!
