It seems crazy to me that 5 months have gone by. I cannot even explain how fast time seems to be going now that Walker is here. As always, he is doing so many new things this month! Alot of what he's doing is an expansion on what he's already accomplished. He continues to rock back and forth on all fours...but with so much more force now. He typically rocks and rocks until the throws himself forward, usually face first. :)
The biggest and most exciting thing he's just started doing is reaching for us. It's the newest best feeling in the world and I am sure it will be replaced with something else in the days to come, but right now there's nothing sweeter than having physical evidence that my little boy "wants" me. Cliff was out of town this past weekend on a men's retreat and when he returned and saw Walker, Walker immediately leaned away from me and reached with both arms to his Daddy. You can imagine that melted Cliff's heart. He's told everyone about it already.
He has his first ear infection at the moment. That's been fun. The antibiotics seem to be kicking in and he seems back to his old self. I hope we don't frequent this condition!
Something else new is that sometimes when we leave the room, he cries for us to come back. He is starting to really recognize when he is alone and when he's not. He likes company. :)
He doesn't watch a lot of TV...I promise...but he does love "Yo Gabba Gabba". He watched it wtih my mom one day and also with Brinley while Lynn was keeping him on a Monday. It's now on our tivo and if we have something urgent we have to do, it will entertain him for a second. I'm the worlds worst mother for admitting that outloud. He likes one episode in particular...we are so sick of the songs!
We have his high chair put together and he looks so small in it, but we're hoping it will help with the solids. We've still made no progress there but really gave up for a while. I think now that he's reached the 5 month mark we are going to start trying again this week. I think we're skipping over cereal, he's clearly not into that.
He's still scooching all over the place and when he's not sleepy can make it clear across the room in just minutes. This has seriously changed our life. I hope you enjoy this video. It's a small taste of what he does all day long! :) As Lynn said today "He CAN'T be still!"
