From Preschool to Prenatal...my attempt at an update!

Today was the much-awaited first day of preschool for Walker. He is in the 2 year old class at Red Oak...he's on the older end, but we made the decision for him to stay with the 2 year olds for many reasons, even though he'll be 3 next month. Mainly, I wanted him to only go 3 days a week...the 3 year old program is a full week program...the other reason is b/c of his birthday and how it falls with school system procedures, he CAN'T start Kindergarten until he's almost 6 anyway, so he'd have to repeat the 3 year old class next year...who wants to do that??
The morning went wonderfully...
He was all smiles before we left...and all giggles in the car on the way there. At one point the conversation turned serious and he said "Mommy, I am afraid I'm gonna miss you..." So, we talked about how Baby Llama went to school and missed his mama, but hew as brave and had good time and then Mama Llama came back. After that, he was all giggles again!
When we got to his school, he scooted on in walking a good few feet ahead of me. When we reached the doors and walked in to the swarm of parents and children, he immediately grabbed my hand. (which I must admit, I LOVED...) But, he kept going...he led me to his room and remembered to stop and hang up his bookbag on the dinosaur peg. His peg and chair have a dinosaur, so that he will know they are his. :) SO cute!
Ms. Christy snapped a picture of us...it was so sweet of her to do!
Then I took a few more pics and he said "Ok, bye bye mommy...see you later..." So, I jetted. I waited until I was out of the building before I started crying like a baby, and I do mean a B-A-B-Y! My little boy is growing up...
He came home with a smily face and told me that school was cool and great. He said they sang songs, listened to stories, watched a puppet show and played, and played, and played. :) He wouldn't tell me any of his new friends names...he was too excited to tell me about running into his BFF, Katie Carter at CFA afterwards and getting to play with her. We went to church with Katie at Mansfield and the two were inseperable at all times. Katie's mom even called tonight to tell me how excited Katie was that she got to see Walker today. Ah, I wish I could have been there!
Cliff surprised us and came home early today. He was doing football cuts and so we expected a late night...but he posted the cuts and let the guys go. He wanted to come home and see his big boy after his first day of school. He's an excellent teacher. He's an excellent coach...but at the heart of everything, he's MOST focused on being an excellent husband and father and that's one of the things that makes me love him so much!
Just an update on my growing baby...we had an appointment last Monday at 8 weeks, 2 days. All the blood from the hemorrhage had cleared up and everything looked great! I am currently 9 weeks and 2 days and still feeling the effects of the nausea, though the Zofran really has helped ALOT. (just not enough...) :(
Walker's excited about the baby. He wants it to be a boy and wants us to name it Aligator. :) Sorry, not happening... We're pretty settled on name options for a girl and a boy. I thought I was settled on a name option for a girl before Cliff dropped a bomb on me and told me I could use my most favorite girl name ever the other night. Since he's been adament about NOT using it so far, I was shocked and excited. SO, we'll see! :) Walker asks me all the time if he can look in my belly button and see the baby. (where does he get this stuff from?) He settles for talking to it instead, and it's SO sweet!
We are in full-swing planning his big 3rd birthday! I am excited...and so is he! Last night he told me "Mommy, I am so excited about my party. You are invited to my party Mommy, because you are my kid." Yay! SO glad I got the invite to the party I'm SLAVING over. :)
He's also learned the art of deception. If Daddy says no, go ask Mommy...and tell her that Daddy said it was ok...and then if she KNOWS Daddy didn't say it was ok and calls a certain little boy out on it, he's now mastered the skill of saying "well, that's what he MEANT to say. He said it wrong on axxxident mommy..." WOW. We have our hands full...and I do mean FULL. I can feel 3 already in so many ways...and the rebellion that always comes with us going back to work, plus through in a baby growing in my tummy and him starting a new routine of going to school. Yeah, life is fun! :)
Walker got to play his first "real" game of golf with Cliff at a Par 3 course recently...he LOVED it. That's an understatement. The boy loves golf in general, but he's been begging to go back. The other night at bedtime he said to Cliff..."Daddy, it was so fun when you took me to play ree-uhl golf...can we go again tomorrow?" He'll go soon enough, I can assure you of that. We've got a daddy who can't wait to endulge him!

I am behind on blogging and I can tell it's going to be a struggle for me to maintain, but I'm determined...because this blog and documentation of Walker's life is a blessing to me in so many ways...and I want that for little baby Roberts too!

Glad the hemorrhage is cleared up! That is great news! It's funny- Jamie looks in my belly button too to see Evan. haha. She will try to stick her finger in it and say "But I NEED to tickle him!!!" Walker will be a GREAT big brother! Hope the nausea gets better soon. Mine lasted until 17 weeks this time... I only had it until 14 with Jamie - BOYS! :-)
