This Fun Week

What a fun week we've had. I said it in my last post, but summer is just so fun! I love the concept of minimal stress...and when you have two parents not working all summer, I think that equals one silly mood in our household. We've just had a blast doing all sorts of fun & crazy things. :)

On Monday, Cliff was painting Kelli's house for her, so Walker & I went to Mamaw's for a bit and then we all 3 went to lunch at Applebees-Mamaw's treat. :) After that, I took Walker to Academy Springs park in Covington...which ironically was one of our highschool "hang out" places. :) Cliff's very particular about me doing things like this with Walker by myself...you just can't be too safe these days. Since I hadn't discussed the park with him, I decided to do a drive by before I told Walker we were going. It was alive with families and so we stopped to play. When I looked up and noticed it had cleared out, in the middle of daylight I got a sort of creepy feeling, so we went ahead and left. I just like to be aware-there are so many crazy stories on the news...and oh my goodness, I've turned into my mother! Here are some pics from our fun day!

The cool thing about the picture below, is that Cliff & I actually have prom pictures on this bridge. :) (and I was ALOT closer to him than what I look...the water's only like an inch deep)

He wanted to get in this little spring sooo bad. But he minded wonderfully. :)
Monday afternoon we decided to surprise Cliff with an early Father's Day since he'll be at World Changers with our teenagers on Father's Day. So, we baked cupcakes and had his present for him when he got home from painting. Walker was SO excited about it all. He kept saying "Daddy pessant, Daddy cuhcake" over and over and when Cliff got home he proclaimed "Daddy pessant!" and drug Cliff to the scene of it all.
This was one of many pics taken of Walker & Cor-Cor wrestling...Walker wore him out!

On Tuesday, Cliff, Cor-Cor, Gi-Gi and I took Walker to Noah's Ark. Gi-Gi had been on a field trip recently and had been saying she wanted to take Walker, so we all went. The coolest part was that there were llamas there...bunches and bunches of them and they were just sitting around in the free range part of it all. I was so excited about it since we read Lllama Llama books so much in our house!

Finally, I have an exciting announcement! Walker used the potty today! Since we've been home this week, we've been attempting some potty training but haven't been real persistant with it because it's still early for a boy. Walker's asked several times to use his potty and we take him but nothing happens. Well, today he said "mommy potty" and I thought "hmmm...this seems different..." so I took him and immediately tee-tee came out! He wanted to sit on the big potty though and not his. Hey, even better! We were sooo excited and did the potty dance, jumped, screamed high-fived...you get the picture. He also got an emmy-M&M-his favorite treat. :)
We had dinner with some friends tonight and he once again decided to share when he pooted...he likes everyone to know and then had to wave at his nose when he pooped. BUT...when we got home he walked into the bathroom where I was and said "potty", so I stripped his pants and diaper off and sat him on his potty. He said "candy?" and I said if you tee tee you can get some candy. So then he asked for "big potty" but it was occupied so he couldn't immediatly get on it. He squatted right beside his potty and tee-teed. I know he was letting me know he had to go and he just couldn't wait for the big potty. I'm sooo excited that he's learning to recognize the feeling. I think all the times before, maybe he's telling us as he goes or we don't get his clothes off fast enough but now he's learning to tell us ahead of time. Right after he tee-teed on the floor he stood up and said "yeah, tee tee!" and clapped and then said "candy?" Ha ha ha ha ha. So, we explained where tee tee was supposed to go and then he got some candy. :) Yay, Walker!

And...this is how we know when it's time for a haircut. You start waking up from your naps looking like this!!

That is awesome about the potty! I bet he was telling you as he went because Jamie will do that when she poops sometimes, although the last 3 times it has been before and she has gone in her potty (a new trend I hope???) That is SOOO great he is telling you now! He is VERY advanced! He is ahead of a lot of girls I know! Jamie STILL won't tell me when she needs to peepee. Jessica told me I need to get her some real undies, so I'm going to try that next week. I hope you all have an awesome summer together! What fun to all be home. Daryl had this week off and might have the week after next. Woo Hoo! :-)
