Summer is so fun!
- Walker now says "Daddy Come On!" and then "Daddy coming!" anytime he is waiting on someone or something. "daddy" is interchangable with any other name or item, such as "grits" when they are cooking. Once that someone or something is on it's way it changes to "Daddy coming!"
- We've been planning a beach trip and we've been talking to Walker about it. He went last summer but we aren't sure if he remembers or not...so we've been showing him the pictures and pictures on the Internet. He keeps asking to "go beech" and when he woke up from his nap the other day he said "MOMMY! Beech!" He's ready and so are we!!
- A few weeks ago, he went with Papa & Gammie to some friends' house. They have a grandchild, so there were toys and when Papa said it was time to go, Walker immediately went and cleaned up the toys without being ask. Papa & Gammie were proud! (too bad that doesn't always happen at home, he's more interested in messing everything up here...)
- He's still manipulating us for kisses when we leave his room at night. He waits until we just about have the door closed and says "mommy keese" or "daddy keese" depending on who he wants to keese. :) We limit it to three...it's just a fun/sweet ritual we have.
- He loves to read "Llama Llama Mad at Mama" and someone (maybe Judy or Cliff) taught him to say "MAD AT MAMA" in a growling voice, so when he reads that page in the book he always does that. Last night at supper, at Gammie & Papa's house, he got angry because I wouldn't let him get down from his chair exactly when he was ready and he said "MAD AT MAMA" in a growling voice. HA HA HA HA HA HA.
- His new favorite thing to say is "got me!" He says it anytime you get him...whether you pick him up, grab him for a diaper change or catch him while he's running from you. He also says "got me" when he gets us, whether that be by jumping on us while we are laying on the floor, tickling our feet or jumping out from a hiding spot when we walk by. Always the entertainer...
- He recently downed an entire half of a ribeye. Considering he rarely eats meat, except processed chicken nuggets & popcorn shrimp, this was a miracle. He just asked for a piece and kept asking. I don't get nervous about him eating much, he's always been an excellent chewer, but the steak had me going crazy...he did wonderfully though.
- He says thank you pretty consistenly now, so that's good. :)
- He likes to try and get us to sit in his lap. If he's in his car, a chair, wherever, he will pat his knees three times and say "mommy sit" or "daddy sit." He just doesn't understand why we can't!
- When we are in the store, he always asks for a ball. Lately, I've been saying no some, so that he learns he can't have something everytime we go to the store...and good grief, we have wayyy too many balls. I'd say at least 50 floating around here...not even an exaggeration. They are tucked away all sorts of places... Well, now he begs. "Peese ball" all through the store in a whiny & loud voice. :)
- I pulled out a pack of ABC magnets I got off the dollar rack at Michaels the other day and he proclaims "ABC's!" in his slurred form. :) who knew??
- He has started wanting to pick his boogers intentionally and eat them. The other day he was doing it over and over to get a reaction and I was trying my best to not give him one. Well, I reached over with a wipe one time and wiped off a booger he was about to put in his mouth and he proclaimed "got me!" ha ha ha ha ha ha...
- He's very into throwing things all over the place and dumping stuff out. Cliff said the other day "he's got to get out of this habit..." Poor Cliff, I don't think that will happen for a while, something tells me we are JUST getting started in that area!
- The other day, Cliff ran quickly into the store and I chose to sit in the car with Walker. When Cliff went in, Walker said "Daddy, wite back!" (and yes, Daddy came right back...)
- Finally, when we were at the docs office the other day for Roseola and a double ear infection, Walker's in the examining room screaming "JOOLIE, come on!" (Julie is our neighbor across the street and typically the one who checks on us before the doc comes in, though she didn't that day, so he was wondering where she was at.) :)
