Just An Update...

Lots of Walker news to report! He's just all over the place-physically, mentally, verbally...it's insane...and oh so fun! First, a few pics just to enjoy...
He's done really well with not messing with the new TV and stand...until today. :)

Here he is driving his motorcycle on top of a building...he's doing stunts already.

Just being cute...

And here's proof that he doesn't always "act" cute!

Running around as a bucket head...

Reading his favorite book "Llama Llama Red Pajama." He loves this book...we read it every single night and he sits and listens to the entire story everytime. We also read it at random times throughout the day. He asks for "yama mama" or "mama yama" depending on the day...and at night he pretends he is "baby llama" and I'm "mama llama" and that's how he refers to us. :) So cute!

Another one of his "requested" cheese moments...

This was after his bath. He's still very much in Daddy mode...and climbed up on the couch naked as a jail bird to help Dada fix the remote. They love to fix things together...Walker is already a little Mr. Fix-It! (He held his hands up on his head and said "oh noooo" when he saw that the back had come off the remote.)

Walker's making sentences all throughout the day now...he's graduated to 3-4 word strings. He's doing a great job! There are still definitely words that only those closest to Walker can understand...but to us, they are as clear as day!
Other words are perfectly clear to any set of humans ears.
I forgot to post this at Easter, but Cliff's Uncle Nick (who plays Santa) walked in and sat at the table where we were eating. He was not dressed in Santa attire, but he still had his white hair and beard. Walker proclaims "Santa Cause!" emphatically. We all died laughing...can't believe he remembers that. We haven't talked about Santa since Dec...but this kid has a remarkable memory.

He is doing an excellent job of cleaning up his toys. He almost always cleans up his messes now before moving on to the next thing-often without even being asked to. He definitely didn't get this from us!
He can comprehend and carry out multi-step directions. I can tell him 3-5 things to do at a time, he listens, does them and does them correctly!
When we are riding in the car and we are sitting at a red light, when it turns green he will either say "go!" or "geen go!" Judy brought over red, yellow and green bowls and talked to him about what each color means. :) He uses the concept when playing with his cars now too.
Recently, whenever he sees a Georgia G, he says "Cor Cor" which is his name for Cory. Cory attends UGA and apparently wears the Georgia G frequently enough for Walker to associate that with him...he also has a tag on the front of his truck. He says Cory's name anytime he sees it...the other day we were driving behind a white truck that had a giant "G" sticker on the rear window and he starts proclaiming "Cor Cor!"
He's obsessed with keys...he likes to lock and unlock the car, the door, etc...he likes putting the keys in the ignition (which he's a pro at) and hearing the ding. If we are playing and he decides he wants to get in the car to play, I will always tell him it is locked. So, he dashes for the front door of the house yelling "keys go" and beats on the door for me to open it and let him get the keys.
He's started using slang already! He's saying "mm hmm" for yes about 40% of the time. I don't know where he got this from other than just picking it up from people around him...he has never once used it incorrectly and so we know he really is doing it. So funny. He's also started saying "yeah" only once for the most part now instead of "yeah yeah"...I kinda miss that. It was just his thing...
He can take his clothes off and can put his pants completely back on. So impressive! He's worked hard on that. We're still working on getting that shirt on.
Separation issues seem to be gone...as he can hardly wait to get into his Sunday School room and is also staying willingly on Wednesday and Sunday nights now. Amazing. This is definitely a result of prayer!
As for Cliff and I...life is busy, but great! I'm in full VBS mode which means Tonya and I are spending lots of time together. It's so rewarding though and I am so excited about what God is going to do through VBS this year!
Cliff participated in Mansfield Changers this weekend and had a great time. It's our at home mission trip where we do construction, yard work, etc to reach out to people in our community and show them the love of God. We didn't get to see Cliff alot this weekend but I am thankful for a husband who has such a servants heart. He's with us 99% of the time and such a hands on Dad and husband that I am so thankful for these opportunities that he has to serve others...afterall, we are most like Jesus when we are attending to the needs of other people.
On that note, I have been reminded recently how blessed I am to have such a humble man in my husband. God calls us to a life of humility and wants us to recognize how much we truly need Him. My husband is an incredible example of someone who always gives God the glory...and if he boasts, he boasts in the Lord. He is very, very slow to say "look at me, see what I did, look how great I am..." because he recognizes and acknowledges the One who is at work in him. One of the things I love most about Cliff is what a humble person he is...he's confident in a way that allows him to reach out to others, make an impact for God's kingdom and give God the glory. I just love that there isn't a "proud" bone in his body. I love that he doesn't sit around and talk about his accomplishments and what a good job he's done...even when he DOES do a great job...and I love how embarrassed he gets when I brag on him. Praise God for giving me that kind of man and that kind of example! (I definitely need some work in that area, on the other hand...)
