Egg-stra Special Fun!

Wow! What a Spring Break. We've had a blast! Cliff came home Tuesday night and Walker was SO happy to see him. He ran up to him and threw his arms around his legs (calves) and said "DADA!" and then started saying "bus" over and over...because the big bus I'd been telling him about for days was finally right in front of him!

Since Cliff's been home we've done lots of fun things as a family...we also completely remodled our livingroom and we love it. We (Cliff & Cory) painted (we still have the trim to do) and we got a new couch to match the red chair we already had...we sold our big tv and downsized to a smaller but nicer tv & stand. We also got a new ceiling fan and toy shelf and now Walker has his own little area in the livingroom to keep all his toys. I like it that there's a special place for him but it's a little removed from the actual room, so there aren't toys cluttering up the floor.

The Easter bunny came Sunday morning and brought Walker the goodies you see below. He was in love with his spill-proof bubbles. He also enjoyed coloring and using his sidewalk chalk. When he saw his Thomas coloring book he held his arm up and down and said "choo choo!"

We attended the early service at church...this was a big deal to me because Walker was being taken out of his routine, which he so adamently insists on sticking to. :) We talked all weekend about how when we get to church he isn't going to see Ms. Cynthia first like he is used to...that he'd play with Ms. Dye first and then Ms. Cynthia would come later. I told him it was ok to miss mommy and cry for a minute but then he had to stop and be a big boy. Well, he showed me. He didn't shed a tear when I left and did great the entire time. This is the 2nd Sunday in a row...and also the 2nd Sunday after Kim and I committed to praying our babies through this difficult time. God hears and attends to the cries of even his smallest children, praise Him for it! Here we are after church and before heading to Grandmommy and Grandaddy's.... (sidenote about church...he's also giving the greeter guys "knuckles" when we enter...this is a big step as he used to not want to give them the time of day!!)

Here's Walker on his way to the truck to head to Grandmommy's. We told him he was having an Easter Egg hunt and he immediately grabbed his basket and headed out the door.

And of course, he had to run laps around the yard when we first got there to show out. He's doing lots of showing out lately...wants to make sure everyone knows how cute he is. He likes the attention, that's for sure!

He loves to sing the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and unfortunately, he loves to hear me sing it to. One day he'll realize...
He's SO stinkin cute doing the motions. He can do almost all of them and it's just precious! He says "It-e, Bit-E, I-da"

He's just being a camera ham here...squinting his eyes and grinning real big. Sidewalk chalk is a new favorite!

And of course, a trip to Grandaddy's wouldn't be complete without a ride on the lawnmower. (he also rode it for about 30 minutes at Papa's later that night...) The kids LOVES to ride the lawnmower. He obsesses about it when we get there and says it over and over and I do mean OVER until he finally gets to get on it. It's crazy weird. :)

Here he is at his egg hunt. He did great with this. He had attended one other egg hunt at church and immediately picked up the concept. He absolutely loved looking for and finding the eggs. He'd get so excited and throw them in his basket then run for the next one. From time to time, he stop and shake them and then try to get the candy out-oftentimes successfully. And yes, he's barefoot-hey, we're from the country!

In his Easter basket at Grandmommy's he got a carrot bat and ball, so we played a little baseball as well...
It was obvious how much time he and Cliff spend "playing golf" when he opted to drop the ball on the ground and hit it that way, instead..." Speaking of golf, he names it when he sees it on tv...and football, basketball & baseball as well. Smart kid. (or maybe his dad just loves sports???)

CARS! That's what we are all about right now. Cars, cars, cars. He was driving his car on Daddy's newly painted wall. Yikes!! He also drove it all over the couch, ottoman, TV stand, toy shelf, pillows, etc...

And to keep him off the walls??? I made a road. I'm pretty proud of how quickly I thought this one up! :) This kept him busy for QUITE a while!

Then he had to drive his tricycle on the road. He isn't doing it here, but he can actually use the pedals correctly! (mommy dilema-encourage imaginative play or teach about not riding on books??? hmmm.... imaginative play wins this time!)

And...sometimes he falls off. :)

He is just so darn cute!

And this is what he does anytime anything doesn't go his way. Imagine "ohhhh" accompanying this gesture. "ohhh, Pablo." "ohhh, mama." "ohhh, ball." You get the picture.

He's been a huge Daddy's boy the past few days and I won't lie...it's been a NICE break! Daddy's enjoying this as well. :)

Every night just about, we play "monsters..." and I know I'll regret using that term when he's 4 and crying because they are in his closet. But right now, he enjoys monsters. We crawl around on the floor, chasing one another and growling. He started this game, we just named it. :) It's one of our favorite family activities!
He is still very into telling on himself. Today, he bit the tip off his blue crayon and wanted me to know it, so he came in the kitchen where I was cooking and giggled until I looked at him, then he held it up high and took off running to his room where he slammed the door and giggled some more. He is just so fun!

He's using sentences left and right. Everyday he says more. "Mama, eat" "Baby see", "Down peease?", "Go ow-side.", "eat brownie." Those are a few I heard this afternoon. :)

I love reading about Walker. He and Jamie have so much in common! I wish you lived closer, I bet they would have a BALL playing together. haha. Of course, we would not get a moments rest with these two wild childs in the same room.

She does the SAME thing when things don't go her way but it is always "OOHHH NOOOOOO!" hands on head.

And I LOVE the road! I will have to try that one.
