Crib Friends

Think he loves his crib friends? These were taken on 3 different occasions. We don't put him on these friends. In fact, they all sleep on the bottom end of his crib. But, he has to have them to sleep. God bless Pablo, Bear, Lovey and Blanket. This first one was at night. (He normally sleeps in long sleeves but I forgot to put his clothes in the dryer, and they were still wet...) This is Pablo, and he is on the complete opposite end of the crib than he was put to bed on. :)

This was one day during naptime. This is Bear. He loves, loves, loves Bear. (Can you tell?)

And this is just last night right before I headed to bed...(in case you are wondering...the blanket has holes all in it...it's very breatheable)

And this just became my new favorite picture. This picture IS my child. So cute, so sweet, yet there's just a hint of sneakiness and rebellion mixed in. What a doll. (or the masculine form of doll...whatever that may be)

We were talking about the Eastside game tomorrow night and Cliff pulled out his old jersey and put it on Walker. Walker ran around his room in circles flapping his arms like a bird. Can't quite figure that one out, but...it looked fun!

Labor Day Weekend Recap:
Friday night Cliff and I went on a date! It had been over a month since we'd gone on a prearranged date and since we are the king and queen of talking about how important "dating" is, we were very much looking forward to it. We had great time with lots of grown up talk. The issue of when we might get pregnant again even came up...and blew over quickly. :) Not anytime soon, let's put it that way. I think Cliff temporarily lost his mind when he brought it up...
Saturday we had a nice day. Jenny and Ava came to play with Walker and me. Cliff was able to get out and play golf for the first time in over a month. Walker and I had a blast with the girls. Ava and Walker had fun taking toys from one another...this is pretty much how they "played." Jen and I were able to chat and catch up in real life...I say real life, because we talk constantly over the computer. It's not as constant that we hear each other's voice and see each other's face though...so that's always a treat. Walker made his first pass at a girl, Saturday. He and Ava were standing near the doorway of his room and he walked right up to her, leaned in and snagged him a kiss. I can't say I blame him...she's quite a catch. We call her cousin Ava. After she left, Walker informed me that we really needed to rethink this cousin thing...(for those of you who don't know...they aren't REALLY cousins...Jenny and I are just very close). Aunt Jenny got a kick out of Walker's mean face, which he pulled out about 5 times on her...but he loved her to death and was very happy to see her. After seeing him shake his head "no" several times, she started saying "yes" to him. He's been walking around the house ever since saying "es" "es" "es" nonstop...not usually at any appropriate time, just on random occasions. However, from time to time if we say no, he will say "es". This kid.
Saturday evening we went to Dad and Kathy's and had dinner with the whole crew. (Cory, Angie, Stephen, Crystal, Dad, Kathy, Mamaw and Mrs. Ruby) It was so good to all get together. As much as we see them all b/c we all live here it was the first time since July that ALL of us had been together at the same time, in the same place) This happens when we go back to work, considering most of us are teachers...
Sunday was good too. We had a nice church service about how God looks at the inward things and we were challenged to look at ourselves and see where our heart was. I definitely needed this!! Sunday night I had some girl's time with Angie and Crystal. Can I just say I love those girls? They are TRULY a blessing to me in so many ways but the thing I love most about our friendship/sistership is that we know (and invade) one another's hearts when it comes to our relationship with the Lord. We frequently talk about our struggles, sometimes cry together, always laugh together and are always encouraging, praying for, building one another up and just loving one another through this thing we call life. I'm so blessed to have very close friends built into my family. What a treasure!
Monday we had a nice family day at home that ended with a fun and yummy dinner at Grandmommy and Grandaddy's. (cliff's parents). Walker had a blast and loved all the yummy food that Grandaddy gave him. Grandaddy is very sweet and always feeds Walker so that Mommy and Daddy can eat. (Walker can feed himself...but he lets Grandaddy do it still because he knows how much he likes it!) Shhh...don't tell!

Walker is obsessed with books these days. I LOVE that! Considering I love to read and Cliff hates it...it looks like Walker finally got something from ME! Not to mention, I'm a teacher...and teacher's kinda have to love reading, huh?? :)

Walker has had an exciting week because he got to see Nonni twice and Grandpa once! Nonni and Grandpa came to stay with him on Tuesday evening while I went to girl's discipleship and Cliff had a bonfire at school. Then the next day Nonni came back to keep him because Judy was sick...this was quite a treat. Even though Nonni lives in Loganville, Walker gets to see her lots just like his other grandparents...but with Grandpa's work schedule, he doesn't get to see him quite as much. He was very excited! Grandpa teaches him new tricks...or old tricks, rather...ones we've broken him of. I guess that's what Grandpa's are for! He he...

Tomorrow night Grammie and Papa (my Dad and Kathy) are coming to put Walker to bed. My husband asked me on what he coined an "us" kind of date...which involves Krystal's and high school football. Things like this just make me love him all the more...it's really the simple things in our relationship that bring us sooo much joy. Tomorrow should be a good day. It's Friday, Cliff has no football practice, so we will have the afternoon with Walker...and then we get a date. Woo hoo!!

Life is good.
