Alot has gone on since my last post. This past weekend was a big weekend for Walker. On Sunday we had the Christian Home Dedication at church where Walker was presented to the church and we committed to raising him according to God's Word. Our church also had an opportunity to commit to joining us in this process. Many of our family members were there as well as our friends Shawn, Jennifer and Avery. It was a precious moment. There is a picture of the dedication included in this post.
That evening, Walker played baby Jesus in the youth program and Cliff and I were Joseph and Mary. This was a 35 minute program and Walker did fantastic! He didn't cry or get fussy at all. He made a few squeaks...but so did baby Jesus, I'm sure. A picture of that is also included...
I went back to work on Monday. :( I was not looking forward to this at all but I think knowing that it was only for a week made it easier. Then I will be back home for Christmas break. My wonderful cousin, Emily, is home from college and is staying with Walker for part of the week. He loves her so much and constantly smiles at her...he loves looking at her! She is so great with him and has been the biggest blessing in our lives this week. I know he has been in good hands and I had no reservations whatsoever leaving him with her. She also has been helpful at night...last night she decorated our tree for us. It had been up for several days with no decorations and would have probably stayed that way several more days if it hadn't been for her!
Walker is trying SO hard to roll over from back to front. He puts so much effort into it and is even throwing his head forward once he gets on his side but he can't quite get over that shoulder. It's so cute to watch though...we just cheer him on and on and on...really it's amazing how long one can be entertained by watching him try and roll over. He's grabbing at things all the time and is loving playing with his toys. His new favorite is the Baby Einstein ocean play gym that Dad and Kathy got him. It was supposed to be for Christmas, but he has it already and is loving it. Dad wanted him to have it early. :)
He has been going through the night without eating most nights these days. He does still wake up once, sometimes twice but I'm able to quickly get him back to sleep without him requiring a bottle. This usually means he's up at 5 or so wanting to eat, but I love that because it gives me time to feed him and then put him back down while I get ready for work. Then he sleeps until about 8 or so. I will say that I've started a bad habit...Beth, STOP READING AT THIS POINT...I do let him in the bed with me sometimes...alot. When he wakes up, he goes immediately back to sleep if I put him in with me at that point. I know it's a bad habit but I just love those moments so much. He can and will sleep by himself so I am not causing any lasting damage I don't think. But it has gotten me through this transition of going back to work.
He has gotten SO big recently. It seems like he grows while I am at work. I can't believe what a big baby I have! He's a growing boy...now if his legs will just grow, his Daddy says... :)
