Walker misses Daddy!

Well, we've made it through our second night without Cliff. Walker misses his Daddy! His kicking has picked up drastically and I am sure it's because he's wondering why Daddy isn't talking to him, hugging him and reading him bedtime stories.
I can't even tell you how hard it is for me that Cliff is gone for a whole week. As a soon to be new mommy I sometimes think irrationally. Thoughts have run through my head all weekend long about what if something bad happens, what if Cliff gets hurt, what if Walker comes early? I've really been relying on the promise that God gives me that He will take care of me no matter what the circumstances. I've also been contemplating the fact that my mother is a born-worrier and that none of her worrying has ever caused anything bad to happen, no matter how bad it got in her imagination. I guess I picked this trait up from her...you know the kind of worrying that's so annoying to you as a teenager but I guess you begin to understand when you are a mom. :)

Despite how much we've missed Cliff I've had a good time doing things I wouldn't normally do. I spent all day Saturday with Jenny. We worked in Ava's room pretty much gutting it so that it could be ready to paint and start moving stuff into. Then we had the afternoon and evening to just spend some good quality time together. I stayed there that night. The thought of two pregnant girls with two full sized body pillows in the same bed made me laugh out loud on the way to her house. I don't know about her but I ended up having plenty of room, so it all worked out. I've been at Dad and Kathy's since Sunday and will be here again tonight. Then tomorrow I get to go visit Ashley! I have yet to see her new married home. She has always been so good about being the friend to everyone that would drive a far distance and make a huge effort to get together, so I am glad I finally have a chance to go and visit her neck of the woods...

Cliff's painted the yardlines on the wall. They look really good...not professional, mind you but they look great. The parts that look less than profressional are the parts I did. I kept getting frustrated. At one point he said "I didn't marry a quiter...." to which I replied "you didn't marry a painter either..." :) Despite the hard work we had a great time and have really cherished getting this room ready together. I'll post pics later, once we go back and correct some of the blemishes.

Walker has appeared to be breech recently. I don't know this for sure but I have had so many painful kicks in the crotch that I swear he's tried to get out a few times. Despite the jumpiness this causes in me, I always welcome the kicks...hard as they are at times. Last night though, he must have turned sideways because I was feeling him on both sides at the same time, much higher than I normally feel him. I could even feel him from the outside. This is the first time since Father's Day weekend we've felt him from the outside. I know Cliff will be so excited when he gets home to feel him. I'm just glad the little buddy decided to let his Daddy feel him for Father's Day because it would have broken my heart if the first time we'd felt him Cliff was out of town...

I can't believe that I'm 13.5 weeks away from the due date! This is just crazy...I've been doing all sorts of reading lately and asking lots of questions about the hospital experience, etc. Soon we will register for a few classes. I'm really excited because I checked out our hospital website today and discovered that they offer two free classes. The breastfeeding one and infant care. I am definitely going to do the breastfeeding class...it comes highly recommended and it's important to Cliff and I both that we try and make that a part of our life. :) We also plan to take an infant CPR class and hopefully the Childbirth Education class.

Well, I'll update more later. This has been kind of rambly. I'll post new pics soon. I know that's always the most exciting thing to see. :)

Whit and Ashley really enjoyed having Nicole and Walker to visit us! It was good to see them and I had a great time. Thanks for making the journey!
