9 weeks, 2 days...

Ok, so I am a little late on my 9 week update...but I am sure there are only about 5 of you who are watching my blog daily for the update AND I KNOW EXACTLY WHO YOU ARE. :)
According to my email update from babycenter.com this week marks the first week that the baby looks like a human. It lost it's tail! It's nearly the size of a grape and has all it's parts in place. It's even a boy or girl at this point, although we won't be able tell by ultrasound for some time. I am so jealous that I can't know this very minute! I so admire our friends Tracy and Duane for making it through their entire pregnancy and not finding out what they were having...and I know they will make it through this one as well. We just don't have that "chip" in us. We have to know! Baby has earlobes and by the end of the week, the inner ear will be complete. His eyelids are shut and will stay that way until about week 27. Oh gosh, I called it a "his" again! I've done this several times over the past few days unknowingly and people are pointing it out to me...
It's heart has divided into the 4 chambers and the valves have started to develop. By next week the major developments will be complete. That's so crazy!
These updates that I keep getting keep telling me that I "won't look pregnant for a few more weeks..." Well, I am not sure who they think they are talking to but I am pretty sure these emails aren't designed for 5 foot gals who are prone to gaining weight. Not only am I aware of the fact that I LOOK pregnant but I have constant reminders. For example, at work today a parent of a former student asked if I was expecting and when I said yes she replied "I was wondering because you are SOOO much bigger than you were last year." Emphasis on "SOOO" is accurate, that's exactly how she said it.
I haven't felt very pregnant this week. I haven't been nearly as tired in the afternoons, although I still took my naps when I could. That was rare because we had a very busy week. I had one day when I just felt like I'd been run over by a truck, that was Tuesday but other than that things have been good. Last weekend was the weekend for raging hormones. I was an emotional wreck. Don't believe me? I'm sure my dear husband will be happy to confirm. :) He handles me with such patience. I am 100% sure he can't understand why in the world I sat on the couch and bawled my eyes out and provided a million different reasons, none of which related to the other. However-none of them had anything to do with Cliff. He's been most excellent. :)
We're on fall break this week, so I know week 10 will come fast. The breaks always fly by! Week 11 we get our next ultrasound, so I can hardly wait! I had a very great girls night tonight with my cousin Kelli. We had a blast. I think baby got jostled around a tad because of all the laughing we did. After dinner I had sharp pains in my right side. I think I overdid it, but we ATE. Well, I am running out of updates...more later!
