Cliff said tonight in the middle of Will's dinner, "I hope you are blogging..." Apparently, he doesn't follow "our" blog as well as he used to, but he wants to make sure I am recording everything Will does the way we did Walker. :)
Will is 8 months and three weeks old, and is a little PIG. It seems Will never gets full. Ever. He is eating alot of "real" food these days, thanks to some grandparents who are a little more brave to sneak things here and there with a second baby, and also parents who aren't quite as "gun shy" when it comes to trying "real" food this early with a second baby either.
Will has been interested in our food, long before he even started having baby food veggies and fruit. But, sometime recently he started realizing that what we had was different and what we had was better.
These days, Will is eating a combination of baby foods and "real" food. He doesn't care for stage 3 foods at all. He gags on them, but not because he can't handle the texture or size. He just simply doesn't like them. He loves real food...which is much more textured and sizable than stage 3 baby foods.
Some of the new "real" foods Will has tried in the past month are: green beans, carrots, potatoes, peas, shredded cheese (his favorite snack), diced pears, mushed bananas, cheerios (given to him in the nursery at church), butter beans, cornbread, sweet potatoes...and on Thanksgiving he even had a little turkey and dressing! Grandmama actually bought him stage 3 turkey and dressing and he spit it out. No, I am not kidding. He wanted the real thing. Bless her heart, she's an angel...thinking of her little baby and not wanting him to be left out on Thanksgiving, but Will had other plans. He wanted the real stuff. So, the real stuff he got! (and devoured) So far, thankfully, Will's tummy seems to be handling all these new foods very well!
But the thing that caused Cliff to want to make sure I was blogging was the occurrance of what we have come to enjoy each meal time. Will yells at us, literally yells at us between every bite. He isn't upset...he just wants more. He also says "mmmm" over and over while he has a bite in his mouth. It's precious really. A little weird, maybe. But precious!
Here is one of Will's more recent favorite meals...mushy veggies from Grandmama's homemade veggie soup and some of her homemade cornbread! Kid has good taste!!
And one of my favorite pictures from recently...mealtime smiles. I love my boys!
