Blog Love for Walker

It's about time for some updates on Walker!
He had his first day of preschool a few weeks ago. The day started off like any normal day. He woke up ambitious and ready for his day. He acted as if the day was nothing special, and therefore so did I. We've learned with Walker to follow his cue. He can be so quirky about certain things, especially new things, that it's best to go with his mentality of it all sometimes and just not make a big deal out of anything.

He watched Team UmiZoomi and here he is with his Umi googles on. :)

He ate cereal for breakfast and played games on my phone...then posed for a sweet picture with Mommy courtesy of Mrs. Cristy. Ironic that it was her idea since she's forever giving me a hard time about my picture taking. :) (one might say her kids are picture starved since they are ALWAYS asking me to take pics and videos of them...lol)
Then we headed out the door to school. His class was outside when we got there, which wound up working out pretty well for us. He started to get shy and hide behind my leg. Just for a second though...a little boy named Trent ran up to him and saved the day! (it's been a few weeks, so my memory has failed me a little, but their conversation went a little like this:
Trent: (just looks at Walker)
Walker: "Hey! Will has a shirt like that..."
Me: "Yes, he does..."
Trent: "Wanna see how fast I can run?" (takes off... and returns)
Walker: "Wanna see how fast I can run?" (takes off and Trent follows...) but not before he turns and waves "Bye mommy!"
Melt my heart! Not sure if I was relieved that it went so well, or sad that he wasn't more hesitant to leave his mommy!
I started back in the school to return to my car, but I paused and turned to see what he was doing. I saw him playing with Trent across the playground, so I breezed back over to snap a quick picture and then I was off.

Thank God for Trent!

Walker loves preschool this year. We couldn't be happier with his adjustment. I hear alot more about it than I did before, but I know it's only because we have a rule that he cannot play a game on my phone until he tells me three things about school that day. He always says "I had a great day. I didn't get in trouble and I didn't even get in time out." Then I have to say something like "tell me what you learned, what centers you went to, and who you played with..." and then I get more details.

More soon!!
