Cubbies!

A few weeks ago, our church (Church 213) launched our own "branch" of Awana. We have had a blast! Cliff is the games director and is doing an outstanding job...of course the kids LOVE him and he keeps the adults pretty entertained as well. I'm a listener, which means I get the awesome job of hanging out with some kids and listening to them cite their memory verses and answer questions about who God is...then we get to just "visit" and invest in each others lives for a few minutes. What a joy!
Walker is busy during this time enjoying his class, the Cubbies. They are a precious group and Walker absolutely loves Cubbies. He earned his Cubbies vest and book 1 this past Wednesday by reciting his memory verse and saying the Cubbies motto. His memory verse was a "montage" of 1 John 4:10, Romans 3:23, and Romans 5:8. This is what he had to say... "God...loved us, and sent His Son...all have sinned...while we were...sinners, Christ died for us." He did it wonderfully! His Cubbies motto is "Jesus Loves me." Precious

We were so proud of him, and he was so proud of himself. He asks to work in his Cubbies book several times a day.

I haven't ever had any experience with Awana in my life until now...but I am already so impressed with strenuousness of the program and how the Truth is taught so beautifully to even the youngest child. God just never ceases to amaze me...
