This past weekend, Mom & Barry (aka Nonni & Gampa) treated our family to a weekend in the mountains. It was a relaxing and fun trip with absolutely beautiful scenery! (and beautiful people!) The trip got off to an adventurous start as no one really knew where we were going until we got there. Apparently the cabin has one of those addresses that won't register on any GPS device or internet mapping service...SO...it was fun, for sure. :) Cliff, Josh, Walker and I made the trudge up to the cabin outside of Suches, Ga Friday afternoon. We crossed an insanely curvy mountain...and I've been all over mountains...we are MOUNTAIN vacationing people...but this mountian was SOMETHING else. I said to Cliff, "you're gonna have to slow down because I am going to puke" and no sooner than the words were out of my mouth, we hear puke noises from the backseat. Apparently our sweet little boy shares his mommy's "tendency" towards motion/car sickness. Lovely. He was such a trooper though...bless his heart. Once we were off the mountain, he was fine and was able to enjoy the rest of the trip. Josh was also quite the trooper as he found this undeniably disgusting, but held the pillow tainted with puke, nonetheless.
Here is a picture of the afternoon football game that everyone (minus Kelli, Walker, Michelle, John David and I) got up. They had a blast and I must say I think we had even MORE fun watching. Some (I won't say who) of these people are INSANELY out of shape..and that made for quite an entertaining afternoon in and of itself. :) Having 3 families that are all close and love to spend time together can be quite overwhelming at times, and I'll be the first to admit that there have been (short) moments where I've wished that I was in one of those families that just didn't see each other a whole lot. But, when it comes down to the truth, I think that's weird. I can say that, because this is my blog. I am so very thankful for the 3 sides of family that we have, the closeness that we share and the memories that we make on an almost daily basis. I wouldn't have it any other way. I just can't imagine it.
We are truly blessed beyond measure!
