North Georgia Mountain Trip

We had a wonderful trip to Blue Ridge and the surrounding areas! This was our first family trip without Stephen & Crystal, so there were some things that felt really weird...but we had a great time. We definitely had them with us in spirit!
First we visited Bert's Pumpkin Patch. Walker was mostly just interested in running through the pumpkins...I guess pumpkins just aren't a big deal to a 3 year old boy!

After our visit to the pumpkin patch, we drove into Amicalola Falls where we stayed the last time we went to the mountains. When we were in this exact spot before, I was pregnant with Walker. In fact, right up at the top of that rocky hill, I slipped and fell and landed on the side of my belly when it was rather large. My sisters like to remind me of that! :)
Walker, Poppy and I had lots of fun playing in the river, while Daddy had fun crossing the river (setting a wonderful example of what NOT to do...), and Grammie, Cory and Gi-Gi sat up above and observed from a swing.
Then I had to let boys be boys and try not to cringe as Cliff let Walker walk out (only that far) on the slippery log!
At the river we were at the top of the falls. We decided to go to the middle of the falls too, so we took the short hike to the bridge. Walker was amazed by the "water fountains" and thought it was really cool that he could see them flowing under the bridge.
Later that evening, Cliff & Cory build a campfire and we made SMORES! So fun...this was one of my favorite parts of our trip, and moreso one of my favorite things about my family. Just the simple things make us so happy.
Gi-Gi braved the "Great Outdoors" even though things such as that (like snakes and coldness) aren't her favorites...she's such a great aunt!
We spent the next day driving around to a few different sites to see and then on our last day there, we found a quaint little park right near our cabin. Cory, Dad and Cliff played on the limb that crossed the river. Cliff let Walker have a turn too...yikes!!

Dad. My Dad. :)

It was a great trip!
