Where to even begin? Things have been crazy busy lately, but that hasn't stopped us from having lots of fun. I am not going to be able to update on everything...I've blog noted everywhere and can't find all my notes, but I have a few. :) I also have a few pics. All these pics were taken on my phone. It's a long story, but I had to order a new charger for my camera...it's on it's way and I'll be SO glad when it's here. I can't get a good pic with my camera to save my life! So...here's what we've been doing lately...(some of it, anyway...)
Walker's very much enjoying riding his scooter these days...he especially likes driving it down the small hill at the end of our driveway and into the road...while we are standing at the bottom, obviously. :)

Some other VERY exciting news is that Grandmommy and Grandaddy bought Walker a new 4-wheeler. It's battery powered and goes a max of 5 mph, but this thing looks like the real deal and it's SO cool. :) Walker LOVES it. It's huge...but he drives it like a pro...and yes, he's already flipped it on top of himself. :)
One of his favorite things to do is to ride and play "chase" with whoever is willing to get on the big "mawnmore." Usually it's Daddy, but this particular day Daddy wasn't around, so Grandaddy was the lucky guy. Notice Walker normally pays more attention to who is behind him, than where he's going!
This was Walker's first trip to 5 Guys. It had to be documented. He really liked these peanuts. He liked cracking the shell open and getting them out. We drove to Macon with Cory & Angie to celebrate school getting out with some 5 guys!
Then, Angie and I took Walker to Build A Bear, while the boys went to a sporting goods store... Walker picked out a puppy dog. Here he is rubbing the heart with love. :)
His favorite part of the process by far was giving his puppy a bath. We even went back and bathed him again after he was dressed!
For some reason this picture is on here twice, and it's not letting me delete...
Since Walker was a little uninterested in actually dressing the bear, Gi-Gi did it for him. She's a pro at this because she has her own! Of course he had to wear fireman gear...and when it was time to name him, Walker said his name was to be "Fireman..." So, that's what's on his adoption certificate. :)
We've also been to Chuck E. Cheese recently....
Gotten a new summer hair cut...
...and experienced a "big" pool for the first time this season! This has been especially exciting because Walker just wasn't very interested in staying in a big pool last summer. It took him about an hour and a half to warm up to the idea of letting go of the death grip he had on my neck, but when he did he had great fun jumping in and swimming to the side. He was very brave and I was so proud of him!
VBS decorating has been in full swing this week. I spent my entire day from about 9 am yesterday until around 8 pm at the church, then again today from 10 until around 6. It's all coming together nicely. I am looking forward to a family day tomorrow...Tonya and I are thankful that we worked it out where we could spend tomorrow with our families before the craziness sets in Sunday! We are looking forward to VBS this year...and also looking forward to it being over. :)And a blog post just wouldn't be the same without some of the funny conversations we've had with Walker. So...here goes...
Recently we were eating dinner at Grandmommy's when Walker was telling everyone about how when he was SUPPOSED to be taking a nap that day, he got his Mr. Bubble and poured it all over his bed instead. When someone asked him why he did that he said "Because I wanted to make my bed pretty because my imagination told me it would be pretty." Yes, we all laughed...
This impressed me and I'm his mom! I asked him to TELL Grandmommy what we did when the train got there, talking about the day we went to Stone Mountain, and he said "When Diesel 10 ARRIVED we gave our golf ball and club to the conductor..." Talk about good word transfer!!
That same night at Grandmommy's the tractor was broken...which is actually what prompted the buying of the 4-wheeler, Walker said after dinner "Let's get on our job. It's time to fix the tractor because that's our job..."
One night upon finding out we had to make an unplanned stop before heading to the play-da-ground, Walker folded his arms over his chest in his carseat and said "As Gordon would say, I AM CROSS!" (Gordon is a train on Thomas...)
That same car ride, he said to me "Mommy, you are ingenious!" I thought HE was ingenious until I found out that apparently my mom says that to him all the time. :)
He's recently started biting his fingernails...errr...that's SO my fault. I'm so ashamed. We've been working hard to get him not to, and I'm working hard to lead by example. But one day I said "Stop biting your fingernails." and he said "But I HAVE to, mommy..." and so I asked why and he said "because it's my job!"
On the way home from Kelli's party tonight after being explained to a million times that Jenna wasn't at the pool with us because she was out of town he said "Where's Jenna?" and we gave a short answer because we were tired of giving it...so we said "she's not here, remember?" and he said "I have no friends now. All my friends are on trips on a bus. And Jenna is on a trip and that's why I have no friends!" DRAMA
At dessert, Walker pooted. Twice. Loudly. I said "you just pooted twice, what do you say?" (he knows the answer to this, by the way...) and he replied "OW!" Of course, everyone died laughing...
The other night at bedtime I was telling him how he was going to have so much fun at Bible School. He said "I'm NOT going to Bible School. Judy will be too sad."
Tonight on the way home, he said "I am NOT going to Bible School. I am just staying with Judy instead."
This morning, Cliff was asleep on the couch after not sleeping well at all last night. I had to get a shower for VBS decorating day, so I left Walker watching TV on the couch that his daddy was sleeping on. When I got out of the shower he was in the playroom watching Hero of the Rails. I asked him who put it on and he said "I did." When we went to bed last night we were watching Veggie Tales, so that's what was left in the DVD player. So, not only did he turn on the TV (which is confusing b/c it's a satellite remote), turn on the DVD player...but he also took out Veggies Tales, put in Hero of the Rails and made the thing play!! Which also includes getting through the previews and pressing the correct choice on the DVD menu. And he thinks his MAMA is ingenius!!! :)
If he can't remember the answer to something or where something's at when asked about it, he now responds "Can you tell me?" or "Can you show me?"
On the way home from Aunt Cindy's tonight we hunted train tracks...this was LATE, as we didn't leave there until 10:30, but Walker was wide awake. He's become quite the night owl lately...my crazy schedule doesn't help any either because I haven't minded letting him stay up late with me, in order to get a few quality hours in with him. He's also sleeping later, so who can complain about THAT?? :) But, tonight we found the tracks for several of the characters on Thomas. We actually follow train tracks home from her house, and cross over them several times because of the windy nature of the roads. We went a little out of the way to try and find Hiro's hidden train tracks. When we couldn't find them, Walker decided we needed to go on a hunt for it tomorrow...so, we will. :) But, as we were crossing over some tracks he said "I see something very interesting over there. Maybe it's a train, broken and rusty. Maybe it's SPencer!" And yes, in case you are wondering if that's ACTUALLY exactly what he said..it is, because like I do with my blog notes, I immediately jot it down so I remember it "just as it was..." This time, I put it into my cell phone, along with the conversation about Jenna and having no friends. :)
He's had LOTS of quality daddy time lately...it's a good thing he's such a Daddy's boy. :) Today he told Cliff while they were watching golf and eating a bag of doritos, "We are boys and we do things that boys do..." Guess he's heard that before!
I guess this is enough catch-up for one night. I hope to be more on top of things for my own sanity soon after VBS is over!
