This has been a busy, but wonderful week. Cliff's been gone on a mission trip with the teens from church and we've missed him SO much, but we've done lots of fun stuff to make the time pass quickly. :)
Before Cliff left (and Cory, Angie, Dad, Stephen & Crystal too) we all had a Fathers Day/Dad's birthday dinner at Cory & Angie's house, followed by fun in the pool!
Wednesday after surviving the night alone in our house we went to see Toy Story 3 in the movies. It was Walker's first trip to the movies and it went well overall...we left a little early because he got scared and started crying. Broke my heart...he cried all the way to the car. I am still not 100% sure what scared him. He's given me three excuses: the dinosaur, the noise was just too loud in there, and they wouldn't turn on the lights... I can see how any combination of those things would scare a little boy. :) (he's quite scared of ALOT of things right now, by the way...)
But, the crying didn't last long because we went to Dunkin Donuts and got chocolate covered donuts with sprinkles! That makes ANYTHING better. :)
Yesterday we stayed home all day long and played. We went on a short outing in big boy underwear to take Grammie to pick up her car. Then we went on a train hunt...and we found some trains!! Going on train hunts is one of our favorite things to do-especially when we are successful. What else was successful??? Our outing in big boy underwear!!!! No accidents!
We got up at Grammie's this morning and decided to go do something fun. So, we went to paint pottery. Walker LOVED this. He picked a monster truck. His truck has about 4 layers of paint on it because he kept painting over what he'd already painted. It wound up looking almost camo when he was done. It will definitely be interesting to see what it looks like when we pick it up. But, he did a great job and what's important is that he had a blast! Then we had lunch at Taco Bell-his pick. What's so special about THIS outing? BIG BOY underwear stayed dry again!!! I am SO proud of the progress he's made this week with potty training. I knew when our schedule slowed down, and I had the time to invest in it, he'd catch right on. I don't want to "jinx" anything, but I do believe we almost have ourselves a potty trained little boy! He's worn big boy underwear all week long and done just excellent. :)
Notice the determination in this picture...that tongue was hanging out of his mouth!

Funny story...one day this week we were watching TV and he ran into the bathroom. I heard him climbing up on the potty. (he likes to stand on it) He didn't want me to come in, so I listened from afar. When he came out he said "Mommy, mommy! I tee-teed in the potty but I forgot to take my underwear off!" Ha ha ha ha...he'd done everything he was supposed to, just forgot one "minor" detail. :) Cute boy!
One morning while I was in the shower he said he had to go tee tee, so I told him to use my toilet so I could hear him and make sure he was ok. When I got out of the shower I found him naked. When I asked him why he was naked he said something like "you told me to take my pull up off, but you didn't tell me to put it back on..." Ah ha ha ha...that kid cracks me up on a constant basis!
Today at pottery, I asked him if he could smile for me while I took his picture. His response? "Nope! I too busy painting my monster truck, mommy..." The other two ladies and teenage boy in the store started DYING laughing at this one! He was quite vocal the entire time, so they were thoroughly entertained, I am sure...
On the way there today he said "oh gosh! oh gosh!" and I said "what?" (we've been strongly discouraging him from saying this, by the way...) He said "the clock says 5-2 o'clock! We're gonna be late!" "I said, no baby the clock says 11:14, we will be just fine." :)
