Our Jumping Bean!

Look how adorable our baby is! I was nervous as could be and even sat on the bathroom floor of the lobby bathroom praying before we went in! God is so faithful though and our baby is doing wonderful. I am actually a little further along than I thought. I expected to be 8 weeks and 5 days and I was 9 weeks and 1 day so that was great news! As soon as they turned on the ultrasound we saw the baby. There was no "searching" around for it and immediately she said "It looks good..." That was such a relief! And then as if baby knew mommy needed reassurance, it started jumping around and "flapping" it's arms! I bawled my eyes out. We saw and heard the heartbeat...a strong 176! Oh, a really neat thing was that there was a big screen up on the wall in front of me so that I didn't have to crick my neck to see the screen on the ultrasound machine. They spent so much time with us too. They'd just returned from an ultrasound clinic and had learned new things so they were experimenting on me. I told them I was up for experimenting whenever they wanted to! If you look at the second picture you can see the eye sockets and nose. It has a rather large forehead and skull at this point. They say it's because they grow from the head but we say it's because it's so smart!
Other not so important news includes that I have gained a whopping 3 pounds and I had high BP yet again. I am proud of my 3 pounds seeing as I'd gained about 7 this time last pregnancy. I think I'm doing pretty good. :)
Well, more later! Only 3 more weeks of the icky first trimester! Yay!
