Conversations

We have a talker and a babbler.  Either way, noise is what I hear all day long.  Sometimes it's music to my ears, othertimes I really would love a sound proof room to toss them both in.Some funny conversations have unraveled with Walker here lately.  He's at such a fun (though sometimes smart mouth) age.

Walker:  Can you just drop me off at Poppy and Grammie's on the way home so I can spend some time with them today?  It's been forever.  (it had been only a few days...)
Me:  They aren't home.  They are at a wedding.  Poppy is marrying someone today.
Walker:  WHAT?  You mean Poppy isn't going to be Grammie's WIFE anymore?? (yes, he said wife...yes he knows the difference...)
Me:  (dying from laughter here)  NO!  Poppy will always be Grammie's wife.  Well, husband.  He isn't marrying someone else, he is officiating a wedding.  Officiating means he is performing the ceremony.  He is in charge of telling the people who are getting married what to say to each other when they say their vows. (4 year old language, remember...)
Walker:  Oh, phew.  Cause I really love our Grammie.

Walker:  This is Awaddin mommy.
Me:  Yes, Aladdin is one of Crystal and Stephen's favorite movies!
Walker:  Oh good, we should invite them over!
Me:  Oh how I wish we could...
(this one is sad.  it hurts my heart.  he misses them SO much. it's hard to explain to a 4 year old why God would call away someone that he loves so dearly.  but, we know God is faithful, He always has been, and there is a reason for this all)

Walker:  Pastor Tory says we should all call a friend and invite them to VBS tonight, so I want to invite Sawyer. (this is funny because Tory is a very close friend of ours, and Walker never calls him Pastor Tory...but the other kids at church do.  He was in VBS mode for sure)
Mommy:  Ok, we can do that.  (so we made the necessary arrangements for Sawyer to come and made sure Walker knew just how proud he had made us (and God) by wanting to invite a friend)
Walker:  I read it in my Bible. Jesus sent the disciples out to invite people to see Him so they could learn about Him, and so should we. So, that's what I did!

Walker:  Mommy, what's my elf doing at the North Pole anyway?  Is he busy making more elves?
Mommy: (fighting back laughter with Daddy) Why yes son, I am sure that's exactly what he is doing.
(Oh I simply cannot WAIT to tell his future wife this story!)

Mommy:  Leave Pablo here, he isn't going swimming with us. (he argues a little and I grab Pablo and gently toss him onto the couch beside Cliff)
Walker:  Mommy don't you ever let me see you throw my Pablo again!  (and before I could get on to him for talking to rudely to me, his little eyes welled up with tears and I could tell I had genuinely hurt his heart, so I decided this time discipline could wait.)
Mommy:  (paraphrased because this one was said with choked back tears and a clouded memory) Oh baby, I am so sorry.  I shouldn't have thrown your Pablo.  But I wasn't being mean to him. I would never do that.  Pablo told me one time he liked to fly, so I let him fly.
Walker: (pulls away from my embrace and looks me dead in the eye and says) MOM, penguins can't fly.  Everyone knows that.
Cliff:  That's true mom.  Everyone does know that.  (gee thanks, babe)
Walker:  (seizing the opportunity just handed to him)  But penguins CAN swim and Pablo just told me that he IS going swimming with us.
Cliff:  Penguins CAN swim mom.
Mommy:  Let's go...
(yes, Pablo went.  I mean-you choose your battles right?  And I'd lost that conversation before it ever truly got started...)

It's truly entertaining living in this house.

And not to leave Will Douglas out, he has gained quite the vocabulary in the past two weeks or so.  Will can repeat almost anything you ask him to.  He may not necessarily use those words in conversation, but he is saying them.  There are a few words he uses "in conversation" a good bit.  I am just going to list out some of his words, so that I don't forget...  These are in addition to the ones from my previous post.

Nah-Nah (Nonni, and this was actually one of his very first words...I just accidently left it off my last post), EAT (he says this all the time.  and he wants to eat all the time.  hmmm.), yo-yun (lotion-this one has changed a little from it's original version), Ow-cow, baaf-bath, joosh-juice (all.day.long), baw-ball, dowdide-outside, rayen-raisin, EEow-meow (his response to what does a kitty cat say?), nack-snack, Poppy (it was papa, now it's poppy), Gi-Gi (Angie), bee-bed, diaduh-diaper, steen-stink (i pooped), ah igh-alright, mummin-muffin, ain-rain...the list goes on and on.

He runs around babbling jibber jabber all day long.  And I believe he knows exactly what he's saying.  If only we did...  :)

We are  having a blast enjoying summer together!  Walker and Will are in to everything.  Walker enjoys having a little side kick.  It's fun to watch!
