Will's 4 Month Stats

Will is growing and changing so quickly! He is turning into a little man right before our eyes. He is 4 months old now and every bit of precious!

One of the things Will likes to do it be moved. Don't confuse this with actually moving.... :) He likes to "ride" on my legs, as you see in this picture. We go up and down (while i told his hands) and he just laughs and laughs...

When Walker was this age, he jump, jump, jumped all day long. Will prefers to not jump. He will sit and look at the sights, smile at the toys and laugh at whatever is going on around him...but jump, he will not. Walker would wear himself out to the point of actually SLEEPING in this thing, Will...not so much. :) He's much more prone to just sitting and taking in the sights around him.
If he's laying down, he is on his tummy 90% of the time. He likes to lay on his back under his ocean gym, but that's about it. He will spent long lengths of time on his tummy propped up like this taking it all in. From time to time he scooches across the room, or off his blanket, etc...
Here he is at his 4 month appointment. This was right before he ate the paper. By the time we left, that paper was in shreds. Will had a field day with it. His four month stats checked out great. He was 15 lbs 9 oz and 26 inches tall. 75th percentile for height and 50th for weight. His head, which if you remember was a huge area of concern all throughout my pregnancy and the reason he was delivered early and spur of the moment, was in the 75th percentile, so no problems there. :)
Will has taken to sucking his two fingers. We worked HARD to avoid having a thumb sucker. Guess we were successful. :) He enjoyed his paci for his first few months, but now he will push it out with his tongue almost every time and get his pointer and middle finger in his mouth. What can I say? Finger suckers yield finger suckers. They come by it honestly. It's cute. For now. We'll enjoy it just like we enjoyed Walker's thumb sucking at this age, and when he's Walker's age we'll suffer the consequences just like we are now. But that's ok...we're gonna miss this one day. :)

He also sleeps on his stomach. We lay him down this way, but even on the rare occasion we lay him on his back he immediately flips.
Will is definitely starting to show a preference for faces he knows and loves. He will smile at just about anyone, but it's clear when he sees someone he is used to. I can't explain it, but the smile is different and there's excitement present. I think it's neat to watch him "recognize" people...no matter the time of day. We were having a slumber party with our friends Cristy & Kerri and the kids Friday night while the Daddys were on their golf trip. Will woke up around midnight (random) to enjoy some of the party. He just couldn't stop grinning at Kerri and Cristy. He loves him some Mrs. Kerri and Mrs. Cristy. I had the hardest time getting the child back to bed because he was SO excited.

And you can tell from this picture that he loves his Gi Gi! Will and Gi Gi have always had a special relationship...started probably while he was in the womb, but was sealed to foreverness when Gi Gi spent the entire first day of Will's life with us, by our side. We wouldn't have had it any other way. When everyone else had to leave for one reason or another, Gi Gi was there. It was wonderful.
At 4 months, Will also likes to put everything in his mouth. Everything! One of his favorite things to put in his mouth is my hair. Eew! I will be walking around holding him and feel a tug, then realize he's got a handful of my hair halfway down his throat. He's actually gagged on it before...so gross. :) Anything and everything is "game" when it comes to chew toys. The doc says it doesn't appear he is working on any teeth quite yet though, so I guess he just enjoys putting things in his mouth.

Another favorite chew toy is his feet! He's discovered them and if he's not trying to flip from back to stomach, he's grabbing those feet and shoving them in his mouth. Oh to be that flexible!!

Will had a negative reaction to his shots this time, we think. He spent Thursday evening thru Sunday morning being quite the fuss pot and just not his usually happy self. Mrs. Marti in the nursery who was so excited to see him because she'd missed his smile so much during the week said he was not "Will" yesterday morning. Thankfully by the time the afternoon rolled around, "Will" had resurfaced and we were all so glad! It was great to see him wake up with his usual smiles and joyful temperment that I hadn't really seen in full force since last Thursday. Welcome back, Pickle! :)

Will is also experimenting with new faces. It's fun to watch him process. It seems more evident when he is processing than with Walker. I think it's because I am more focused. Walker was SO active that it was hard to notice anything else about him, because he was always on the move and we were always focused on that. Will though, just does a lot of observing and taking in. My most favorite "new" face is his confused face. He makes it sometimes when he isn't sure what's going on, or he sees someone he hasn't seen before...then he usually breaks out into a smile. Adorable. He sometimes watches Walker like "what in the WORLD are you doing?" then he usually busts out laughing at whatever it is.

He thinks it is hilarious to watch people jump into water, go under and come back up. He cracks up everytime.

Will is just a blessing in our life in so many ways. He continues to be our sunshine...he makes getting up in the morning SO much fun. I cannot wait to see how he continues to contribute to our family as he grows and changes!!
