Shop 'til you drop...

Boy does that phrase hold a whole new meaning to me now! On Saturday I was able to be social for the first time in about 3 weeks. I was finally able to go out and have a good time after being so sick for so long. It was WONDERFUL. Jenny and I had lunch at one of our favorite places...Atlanta Bread Company and then headed off for a day full of shopping and spending money on things we'd talked one another into buying. Several times during the day I noticed myself completely out of breath after just walking from the car to the store. My goodness! Talk about baby sucking the life out of you. I quickly realized that shopping all day was like running a marathon to a short girl in her first trimester. I can only imagine what I'll be like when I've gained 25 more pounds. When I got home I wiped out. I couldn't move. Before you think I'm a sissy...walk a mile in my shoes. I'm telling you I probably walked more than that and I was sooo tired!

Jen gave me a very special gift as a late birthday/early baby present. She knew my favorite new pattern that Vera Bradley has out and she got me the large duffle bag as my hospital bag. I'd already started thinking about a hospital bag and couldn't have been more excited about the one I now call mine!

I've been feeling much better. It's been almost a week since I've thrown up. I still have massive waves of nausea here and there but nothing like before and I am seeing the light at the end of this first trimester tunnel. :) I am 11 weeks and 3 days today. My doctor considers 12 weeks the end of the first trimester so I am very excited to be creeping toward that.

I had to go to the doctor today at the spur of the moment because of some cramping I was having at certain times. Turns out I have an infection they are treating me for and baby's fine. I suspected this and wasn't worried about baby but it was wonderful to be able to hear the heartbeat on the doppler. The little thing was hiding out on my left side. I think it's a snuggler already!
